It was a very expensive dinner for two people - $156 including two cocktails ($37). When looking at the menu we thought the price was quite reasonable. We started off with two entrees, which we really loved.
When ordering main, my partner ordered his dish and I got my dish with a serve of nann. The waiter asked us if we want a rice to share, and we said yes. That was already enough food for a couple.
Next minute we got 3 dishes, rice and nanns. when I asked about the butter chicken (the 3rd dish) the waiter wouldn’t apologise or try to figure out, instead, he was saying “yes you ordered three.” So i said nah we didn’t he was saying “If you want i can give you take away container” ??????? Seriously?? I was like huh I didn’t order but we have to take it? Anyways, we didn’t want to argue so my partner decided to take that home.
Fun thing was, we got our bill after we made a full payment and realised we got charged for two serving of rice as well.
Considering we ended up having so much left over food - the butter chicken, half of rice and a nann - it was a definitely a waste and too much food for us. We were not expecting to order this much of food, as well as not even realising what we got charged for.
It would have been so much better if the waiter double checked his order, just to prevent any miscommunications, because we were expecting one serve of rice with two main dishes only.
Even if the food was quite okay, we would not go back again after the experience of getting ripped off. I feel so disrespected...

Thought we would give it another go. The menu is largely the same, so ordered old favourites the smoked darl and moglai chicken. Both completely different from how they used to be, they looked and almost tasted the same as each other, nothing like they used to be. Lamb and pumpkin was ok. We spent $124 to feed 3 adults sharing 3 mains and one entree with rice. Extraordinarily expensive for small portions and average food. Second and last time going here, what a shame.

First time ordering since change of name and …ownership ?
Ordering from the site as painful as ever, we gave up and called to order, no biggie.
Great menu, prices high.
Food ordered promptly, that’s good
Now to the food. The good was the Jasmin rice serving was large. The not so good was the rest. We had a mixed vegetable dish that was low spice on the menu but was very spicy, over powered the dish and the whole meal. For reference was like chilli. The lamb shank special was not very tasty and not like the description, hardly any meat. The cheesy naan had barely any cheese.
Having spent $70+ on a takeaway dinner, we were underwhelmed. $70 for a couple of hundred grams of lamb, some veges, rice and bread, it doesn’t add up. For the same amount you would get double or triple the value elsewhere. Having eaten at the Grand Pavilion many time and always been impressed, we are wondering what else has changed...

The flavour and quality of the food were outstanding. Unlike some places that serve tough or cheap cuts of meat, every dish we tried here featured beautifully cooked, tender meat that was a pleasure to eat.
The food arrived astonishingly fast—within about five minutes of ordering—which really impressed us. There was a small mix-up with one of the dishes, but the staff responded immediately and brought out the correct item without any fuss.
We also ordered an extra bowl of rice during our meal, and it was brought to the table promptly.
We dined on a Saturday night. Although our booking was for 7pm, we arrived an hour early and the team was accommodating enough to seat us straight away.
As for the atmosphere, while there was nothing particularly standout to justify a full 5 stars, I also feel it would be unfair to deduct points—it was clean, comfortable, and pleasant.
All in all, a fantastic experience and one I’d...
