We had some almond cheese cake here two days ago and it was lovely. Yesterday we thought we'd have it again and got violently ill. My wife had her piece at lunch and I had mine at dinner and we're both sick within an hr.
Then when I spoke to someone about it she tried gas lighting me a saying they get new cakes everyday. Despite the fact that the same 4 pieces of ricotta cake had been there all week, just like the almond cake. They obviously don't have the turnover during off peak to buy new cakes everyday.
The coffee is ok at best, but their food handling is dangerous and unprofessional.
Owner's response below is a complete lie. It was 100% the cake that made us sick. As I said, we both got sick an hr after eating it and we ate it at different times of day. The cake was not new and the manager I spoke to said it could be a day old then changed her answer and said it was ordered same day (despite not speaking to anyone else that works there to confirm the orders). It could be as simple as a problem with a fridge but they're not the kind of people that care about their customers, just trying to avoid taking responsibility.
Obviously, places like this survive on the location alone, since a poorly run cafe with mediocre coffee would never survive in a more...
Read moreUsed to be good, now not so much. been going here for years and will likely not go back, front of house staff responsible for taking orders were rude & aggressive (particularly the girl with stretched piercings). Several waiting staff were sloppy with their delivery including one dropping sauce off the plate which splattered down my back.
The food while tasty was severely overpriced for what was delivered (to the tune of a $5 - $10 surcharge just for the location.
The only saving grace were two out of the total waiting staff that were polite and good at their jobs (a young man who was collecting plates and the girl who was moving tables by herself).
I must also stress that they now require the use of the covid safe app only with no alternate sign in methods & force everybody at the table to prove they have signed in even though there is no legal requirement to. Resulting in running backwards and forwards with phones just to order, don't waste your time and go to any of the other establishments at Terrigal with less a draconian "policy" They also now require you use a digital menu, too bad if you have an older phone or a nokia that can't...
Read moreMy husband and I ate here on Friday public holiday and got served an inedible muffin. It was raw in the middle and completely dry on the outside. We are not ones to complain normally but he couldn't eat it so he sent it back. Worst mistake. The manager of the cafe came out to abuse us (in front of our 3 year old daughter) for offending the chefs and accusing us of eating 50% before sending it back. He was so aggressive and adament that he went back and got the muffin to "prove it". It was very clear that we had barely touched it and he dropped that point very quickly after he brought it back. My husband and I are not confrontational and found that we, the customers, were trying to diffuse the situation. My husband and I have lived on the Central Coast all our lives and neither of us have ever had an experience like this ever. As I said, I don't normally complain but the way we were treated by the manager was unbelievable and I don't want anyone else to experience what we did. TL;DR Hope you like your food here or you may get abused by...
