When I’m terrigal, I always go to my favourite place Freestate cafe. It’s the only place I trust to make me my coffee just the way I like it every single time. The staff know me by name (as with all of their regular patrons, and there are many. Everyone just keeps coming back. Not only is the food and coffee amazing, it’s always delivered with a smile and friendly banter. To me it feels like home and everything is ok once I have had my regular morning coffee. What’s really special is how on my birthday, I receive a complimentary coffee. It may not seem like much but it’s the little things that count and it means a lot to me. I love having the coffee card stamped and receiving my free coffee every so often. I’m there so much it doesn’t take long to fill. Freestate cafe makes the best coffee in town hands down. If you want a great coffee and an interesting and witty conversation to go with it, then head on down. You won’t regret it. Perfect location and perfect service . Thanks guys Katrina I can’t do a new review so I’m going to add to this one. I usually only ever just order coffee, but today I wanted to shout my friend breakfast for her birthday so I was tempted by the specials that are currently on offer. I think I died and went to carb heaven. First I ordered the ‘green eggs and ham” . I didn’t take a photo as it looked soo good, I started eating before I remembered to take one. I’ll have to give a descriptive review. Firstly, the presentation was exquisite and the amount of food was generous. The eggs were fluffy and the toast was crispy, topped in fresh alfalfa sprouts. Around the outer edge was a beautifully drizzled pesto and butter sauce. As you can imagine, my Frenchie was hypnotised. The taste was as pleasing as the visual presentation. I rarely eat breakfast out but I have to say, this was a conversation starter and stopper. Secondly for my breakfast/ dessert, I ordered the French toast with bacon, maple syrup , topped with fresh fruit and coconut ice cream. As you can imagine, it was heavenly. The photo tells all. It was worth the calories 100 percent My Frenchie loves going to Freestate. Today he gave the ‘paws up’ and enjoyed the maple covered strawberries and banana as much as I did. It felt like I was at an American diner, with the combination of sweet and savoury. Elvis would have been impressed. Freestate is still my favourite place for coffee and treats, even after 3 years.

Very busy spot and cafe! Definitely dog friendly and great place to grab food and coffee on a nice sunny day! It’s a casual cafe right across from the beach! There are few food options on the menu but what tickled our fancy was the beef brisket toastie and chilli beef brisket burger. Brisket was tender enough and depending on what you feel like having - saucy burger or a cheesy toastie, you’ll select respectively. Coffee was good too! Love it when you order a long black (single O) it’s served with sparkly/ soda water. Hubby went for the Ona blends that day ( can’t remember) but either the aspen or maple is good. Orders to be placed inside and paid on the spot as their turn around is fast and they are very busy! The service staff are good, attentive, friendly and checked in to make sure alls good. One thing good if you have a sweet tooth and if you’re the one doing the ordering, there are sweet treats selection to temp you! I caved in and ordered the custard cronut and it was DELICIOUS!! Filled with lots of yummy custard! For the husband who doesn’t quite like custard he rated it too! Enjoyed the overall experience and will try more of the breakfast menu next time when our tummy calls out more! Worth mentioning again, definitely a dog friendly cafe too! So bring your fur baby down to chillax and finish it off with a walk along the broad walk along the waters!

This place is incredible. I cannot find a single fault. The food is incredibly fresh and tasty and very flavourful and the serving sizes are nice and filling. There are so many vegan options to choose from like breakfast options and vegan pies. The chunky mushroom pie was the best pie I've ever had ! My companions loved their breakfast eggs and bacon and muffins saying they were fresh and very tasty. The service is perfect and they go above and beyond to help you out. They are so friendly and welcoming and inviting and nice. The seating is comfortable and spacious right on the beach with an awesome view. The juices were so fresh and delicious and the coffees were amazing. I will definitely come back for some breakfast or lunch or a quick snack or a coffee. If you're in the area definitely give this place a visit !

If there are 3 simple things I want from a cafe it’s 1. Good food, 2. Great coffee and 3. Friendly service. Freestate in Terrigal have all 3 in spades and believe me, not all cafes in this area can boast the same! Freestate coffee is the only way to start the day. Served hot, quickly and by friendly and attentive staff, and if you come here more than a few times they’ll know who you are and what you like and who doesn’t love that?!? All milk alternatives are available and the baristas here knows their craft well. The food is amazing and getting better all the time. Well priced and really diverse menu from fresh sweet pastries to breakfast, brunch and lunch meals for all tastes. If you’re like me and a bit picky with breakfast they’ll happily accommodate your requests and it’ll be delicious! And…they are happy for me to bring my pooches too! Simply put…nothing is better in the early morning than to sit by the sea with your dog and be served great food and bev by...
