Look it's been family owned for 20 years so I hate to do it, but it's just ridiculous.

Firstly, it's a nice spot and the Oysters from Tassie will beat anything you'll find anywhere.

The ordering process- Register operator takes order, then over to window where you select your piece of fish which is then weighed, then back to register, oh you want oysters, ok back to cabinet, oh you want drinks, yep. Same person pours the drinks.

That one staff member doing the job of 2 people at least, whilst the surly looking cook (the red faced douche with the big gut) eye balls you like he's deciding whether or not to deep fry you for a snack.

Last time I went was Melbourne Cup day, after it had cleared out, so there was only a couple of orders up, I selected the biggest piece of Gold Banded Snapper I've ever seen only for it to come out dark brown, waaaaaay overcooked like a boot. That was a $34 piece of fish bruh. Less beers, more attention.

I've been here 24 years and I've never seen the service so inefficient, you can't have one person ordering, weighing fish, serving oysters, pouring beers and taking money. RIDICULOUS!

I know we love milking the Melb hipsters, but if there's even a few people i there I walk out, takes waaaaay too long just to...

It is with much regret I have to give this place a bad review. I'm local so feel it's in the owners interest to know they aren't meeting expectations. We had a small gathering for a friends birthday March 7 2018. Three out of nine had stomach complaints during the night after eating here. The selection of fish was disappointing, unappealing and certainly not fresh. The sea scallops were expensive, but as it was a special occasion I lashed out only to get overcooked, rubbery smelly morsels which is probably what made me ill. When I asked for some tartar sauce to add some flavour to otherwise dreadful food I was asked to pay .90c. Ninety cents when I had just spent over $40 for 2 serves of fish, scallops and 2 lousy, rotten tasting deep fried prawns I was so insulted I declined. The chef/ cook was disinterested to say the least. Dear Owners, locals love the marina and want it to attract tourists, we love bringing our interstate guest there to enjoy the ambiance, it's in your interest to employ staff who enjoy their job and proud to serve decent food. Please lift your game people. I really dislike having to do such...

I am a local who has been buying fish and chips here for years and today I was disgusted with both the service and food hygiene. I was waiting for my chips and they forgot to cook something so my chips sat there for ages waiting for the one forgotten item to be cooked. Whilst waiting I witnesses the staff, and staff that have been working there for years throwing chips from packet to packet with their bare hands. They were taking chips off one customers order to add to other customer orders with their dirty hands touching other customers chips. When I told them it was so unhygienic and breached food safety standards they shrugged it off and ignored me and continued doing the same thing. I told them I won’t want the ones that had been sitting waiting and touched with all their dirty hands and all they did was throw them back in the fryer for a couple of minutes to make them more greasy. I was really disgusted and asked to speak to someone about it and was told come back Tuesday when there would be someone there to talk to. Such terrible service from a place I used to love. Not to mention the dangerous...

$43.40 for two tiny trays of food. Ordered two serves of whiting (4 in each), we only got 7. $8 worth of chips (included in the $43) gets you dry, cruddy, undersalted chips that are enough for one person. My family has been coming here for about a decade and a half and somethings changed for the worse. Save your money people.

Really pleasant lunch here the other day. Calamari & chips / battered fish and chips. The fish was fresh and super tasty. The calamari was decent. Chip portions are generous and the prices are really low. Few options for pints on draught and cans too. Service was good, quick and friendly staff. Salt and vinegar is a bonus!
