Highly disappointed Got there at 7pm and already ran out of many dishes But the use of MSG is high within 20 minutes my mouth got blisters and I had excessive thirst I had the rice paper rolls which were very very plain no herbs only a couple of leaves of mint the only thing that tasted good was the sauce to dip it yet it was heavily laden with MSG My son got the pork roll and couldn’t finish it as the hoisin sauce was over powering The spring rolls n chicken wings were average yet the sauce was tasty yet again MSG The chef suggested a caramelised barramundi as they ran out of the steamed By that point I had rallies there was MSG and was advised this dish did not have it However it was drowned in hoisin sauce or something similar it was so sickly even after adding the rice and salad I couldn’t eat it I was highly disappointed Especially as so excited to have an authentic Vietnamese I did expect it to be like what you get in Vietnam Yet it didn’t resemble anything I’ve tried before It reminds me of what happened to Chinese food Make it cheap cut out the fresh herbs answered just add MSG to make it taste good and be addictive My son is a chef who has stared at the new Vietnamese bar in sunshine We went to compare and learn what tastes authentic Yet where he works is so much better hands down even without a Vietnamese person cooking I’ve now woken 4am with headaches Damn MSG it’s so BAD for your health Avoid at all costs Won’t even go back to try again Also took an hour n half to get our main meals People next to us took half hour to get served to order I waved the girl down for them and an hour to get any food for one the other 3 got there food about half hour after Lots is people left happy though said it was delicious Yet MSG does that It’s an easy cheat A good chef...
Read moreI travelled to Noosa for holidays and didn't expect to feel such nostalgia after a long time! My auntie had a small restaurant in Vietnam serving our grandma's recipes and I used to be treated with lots of food every time I went there. Sadly, as my auntie moved to a different city, the restaurant was sold to someone else and the food never tastes the same again.
My family went to NB the other night as it is the only Vietnamese option in Noosa and we just felt like some comfort food. I didn't expect much until our foods came out. We had wings, beef cubes, crispy chicken rice, pork clay pot and pho. From my first bite, that feeling started hitting me like a truck. I felt like being back in the good old times when we were all together again.
Authentic Good alcohol list but I wish there was 333 beer Decent service for how busy they are Very little MSG compared to what we have in Vietnam (My mouth is usually dry and numb after consuming too much MSG but I was ok that night)
Thank you NB team. Hope to see you again next time I fly back to Noosa. I wish you a...
Read moreI have eaten lunch here three times and dinner once, so far.
I agree with other reviewers in that there are teething problems caused by a lack of experienced floor staff or supervision/management. That said, this applies to many hospitality venues in Noosa and beyond: lack of staff (experienced or otherwise) leading to owners having to work in rather than on the business, or closing for multiple days a week.
Despite the wait times and the frequent running out of popular fresh dishes from the menu, I keep returning because the food is very tasty and fresh. I agree there could be more kick or spice to some of the dishes, but that is always a challenge for "authentic" cuisine for "local" mouths, who don't always appreciate the heat.
Perhaps (once the staff are up to it), offering mild, medium or hot might be an option, like it is in other Asian restaurants? I realise this doesn't work for every dish.
I recommend you give this place a try - and a second...
