Woolpack Hotel — Restaurant in Tumut

Went there on the 9th September for our anniversary dinner ordered cutlets first one was fine but as I bit into the second one it was off causing me to heave. I brought it to the attention of staff who gave me the choice of a refund or another meal I chose to get another meal and discussed with the staff member about there seafood basket. I asked her to check with the kitchen if the fish was flathead and my husband said to her I don’t like flathead or any other strong fish. The seafood basket was ordered and when I cam to eat the fish I instantly knew it was flathead and gave it to my husband who confirmed that. I then raised that with the staff member who said she didn’t speak to the kitchen but on her opinion that fish was not that strong which I disagree. She said the best she could do was a free drink I felt as the night was ruined I should have been refunded she said there was no manager on. We were recommended to go to this hotel.. was a warm reception uppon entering.. we ordered drinks but we're given the wrong drinks . My schooner of melb biter tasted horrific I took it back after attempting to drink it and the bar person told me it could have been dirty beer lines then charged me for my next beer after I said the melb was undrinkable . Kids meals were great both boys are all and enjoyed their icecream.. my scotch was cooked well but unseasoned salad had no dressing and chips were bland and oily.. my wife's keive was tasty but very dry and oily.. Wouldn’t recommend staying here. I ended up leaving the room a couple of hours after checking in because I just couldn’t bring myself to sleep there. It had very clearly been a while since the place had a good clean. Big cobwebs by the window, crumbs and other things on the carpet. Dust etc in the sink in the room. Noticed a dead cockroach in the hallway. There was also a weird smell. The staff in the pub that runs the accommodation was nice and the room rate is very reasonable so if you don’t care about cleanliness...
