Wow. We’d had an exhausting day and decided to get takeaway knowing we (and probably our son) wouldn’t be able to handle dine-in. Ordered pizzas online and walked to pickup. Pizzas weren’t quite ready yet so we sat to wait (didn’t mind, it was nice to stop). Owner came over and asked if we’d like to wait in the dining area where it was nicer. Accepted and sat at a lovely rustic table to wait it out, wanting to fall asleep where we sat. Owner brought bread and olive oil over, on the house. Came and chatted a few more times. Asked if we wanted to dine in we could just stay, he’d bring our takeaways over with plates, felt very at home. We politely declined at first (again, tired) - said he’d give our son a free gelato if we changed our minds about staying! Meals came - super yummy. Owner suggested wine and cider to go with, brought over some chilli’s he’d grown himself to try with the pizzas, and told us stories, between managing other tables. Felt very cared for and welcome. True to word, at the end of the meal told our son to come to the gelato booth and gave him a free double scoop cone.
My son couldn’t stop saying that it’s the nicest restaurant he’s ever been to. The vibe was great, you could see that the owner was managing a lot of orders but he took time with every table and turned our takeaway pizza into a memorable sit down meal....
Read moreThe pizza was very soggy and bland, the staff were super lovely and accommodating during our meal and ordering. We were willing to put up with the sub-par pizzas because of the great service. This was until my partner and I went to get an ice cream after and the owner maybe(?), an older gentleman who had been super nice during our meal made a rude comment about my partner "probably wanted to eat a full bucket of the ice cream"?? We were shocked, the guy had been super nice until then, my partner is very friendly and jokes alot but you cannot make comments like this to customers!? We left straight away without getting anything else and it ruined a good part of our night, I think he meant it in good fun but it was a nasty thing to say and laughing with the other customers there about my partners body or eating habits is not appropriate or nice. Please in the future do better and do not comment on people's bodies as even blokes feelings can get hurt if you make jokes at their...
Read moreWhat can I say when I'm stunned with great food, welcoming talk and absolutely fantastic service. Visited this place today and though we reached around closing time, seeing our hungry faces the owners Clara and Graham were very welcoming. They explained and made sure we order correctly for 11 people. We felt as if we are at home at dinner table rather than a restaurant. Kids had their colouring sheet and pencils from Clara and loved the kids pasta and pizza very much. We absolutely loved chicken bake, prawn and veggie loaded pizza. More than a restaurant, these couple made us to feel Tumut as home. We will definitely visit this place again. If you are traveling from Sydney to Mel or vice versa, this place is a must visit place for a...
