Hey Buddy is a vibe.

Best coffee in Ulverstone not bitter at all. They serve up delicious meals and we enjoyed their house made crumpets with locally made peanut butter as well as lemon curd and A hefty Reuben on 24 hour sourdough.

They’ve created an atmosphere that feels warm, inviting, nourishing, and unique. The staff are not just efficient but you can tell they really like being there - it’s noticeable. I saw so much care with every meal being plated before it went out to the tables from where I was sitting - I swear it made the food that much better too. I could even see a woman with bright hair happily and efficiently handling all the dishes.

It’s one thing to have a nicely presented front of the house, it’s another to have a cohesive and flowing kitchen - and they have both.

Also it’s way bigger than what it seems from outside. There's a few tables out front, a good number of tables inside, and an extra section of seating including a table for a larger party out the back too.

Parking is either around the corner, behind them in a parking lot, or on the street.

When we first moved to Tasmania, someone in Devonport said they come to Ulverstone just to go to Hey Buddy on the weekends -...

An unexpected delight.

This is a nice little cafe in West Ulverstone that was very hospitable and had great food.

I had the soup of the day, a Thai pumpkin curry soup which was rather spicy, which I wasn't aware of when I ordered but was just spicy enough to still be tasty while providing a nice flavourful boost with the heat.

With the soup I had a peppermint tea and I was delighted to see it wasn't just a teabag, it was loose leaf. The teapot still let a few leaves in which was a slight disappointment but easily solved by re-pouring the tea back through.

The staff were all very friendly and high spirited without being over the top. It's really nice to see happy staff.

The only real downside is that my wife got a milkshake and there was a strange aftertaste. I'm not sure what the cause was, my suspicions were that it was perhaps a milk substitute, but it could have been the chocolate powder/sauce used in it.

Just to complete the review, my wife got the Buddy Roll with a hash brown. They asked if she'd like the hash brown in the burger and my wife said yes. She really enjoyed the hash brown and the burger as a whole.

We'll certainly be back to try some...

🌞It was Saturday morning☕️ You can't imagine how busy Hey Buddy is right now. It's like a supermarket.🤭You can totally imagine when you find a chair to sit down. It was like watching a good movie. 🎬It's a great collaboration in the kitchen. Even if they are busy, they still have a good understanding and smile:)Sometimes they even clap and laugh. It feels really good 👏Even sitting outside, I fell in love with the Hey Buddy vibe. It's like I'm one of them. But I just want to say that this Hey Buddy is magical! 🪄What magic is this?!

You can see it's like a little country Shop and it's like everyone at every table knows each other. Naturally, the whole atmosphere is more intense

I don't need to say much about the taste and quality of coffee! I had a drink for internal use. Just as I am on my way home, I will also take away for one more cup of coffee because of the obsession! That's it ~

Thank you all for a great start to my weekend🥳You guys are so good Turns out Hey Buddy is more than just a coffee shop Not just good coffee but good food It's about giving you a nice vibe When you come here charge up! I'll make sure you're in a good mood...

Dropped by for coffee after the new owners have taken over, Coffee was nice and the outside table area was a welcome place on a sunny day. We did offer the move because the outside tables only had one shaded umbrella so we kindly gave up our shaded area to an elderly lady who was sitting out in today's hot sun. A bit more outdoor shade would be nice. Only stopped for coffee which was nice albeit a bit luke warm, not outstanding but still nice.
