UPDATE We came back and was surprised that a lot of the decor was still a bit unfinished. There still is still no alcohol, just byo with corkage. So that's frustrating. Food is still exceptional but they often run out of things, this has happened a few times that we have visited. Moat frustrating thing was wait to get a glass for our drinks! Ten minutes while the staff chatted with some customers about personal things while my food cooled. I asked another staff member for a glass and they told me to go back to the front to wait.
We visited during the soft opening so we knew things wouldn't be perfect yet, with that in mind: . The food was very good and beautifully presented. . The decor is a mismatch of old and new Asian styles. It didn't really work, I hope there is more coming on this front. . The staff and service were great, very friendly . We were surprised that there is not much in the way of drinks (no alcohol) but we assume this is probably coming too , as there were lots of pretty looking cocktail glasses sitting in the shelves . A small thing and I appreciate that space is limited but there were chairs and plates stacked everywhere, didn't make it feel welcoming and it was super hot, an air conditioner would go a long way.
Overall, we will definitely be back, as there is a lot of promise in Rise 88 and we hope to see them succeed!...
Read moreHad heard mixed reviews on quality of food and service from friends and family so thought I’d give it a go for some takeaways. Ordered the sweet and sour chicken don and was pretty disappointed. Too much plain rice, a couple of slices of carrot and some very average crumbed chicken pieces. Some room for improvement with there fried chicken dons. Grabbed a couple of entrees 1. Octopus balls, these were pretty over cooked and contained about a 10mm cube of octopus inside each ball. Didn’t expect too much considering the price per serving. Played it safe with the vegetable spring rolls (suspect they were frozen and not made in house) and to there credit, these were cooked perfect. A bit light on with the sweet chilli sauce though. Can’t go past grabbing a bag of prawn crackers with Asian takeaways and these weren’t too bad but I believe they could have been better. Glad it came in at a touch under $50 because i would have been kicking myself if I had wasted any more than that. Fair to say my young bloke probably ended up with the best meal for the night, the classic 6 nugget happy meal with an apple juice. No...

Say that lemon sauce is homemade then when we complained about to much corn flower in it she admitted it was out of a tin and they try to dress it up and also admitted she didn't like it. Mongolian beef the meat was unedible could not chew it the sauce so thick wouldn't even drop off the fork.
Tom yum rice over powered with lemon again she agreed. The pastry on the chicken was doughy again she admitted it's just a packet mix.
We never ate our main or rice I ate about four pieces of beef 3 of which I spat out.
After agreeing with us she still charged us full price,I questioned her and she said you order you pay, Sorry when I say she/her I mean the only waitress in there to serve, seat, clean, take orders, and deal with take away and phone calls. Save Ur money don't go unless you just want a soup
Unfortunately I...
