Bairnsdale bowls club is a modern and well laid out establishment with great people and helpful and knowledgeable staff in a welcoming and relaxed environment .. I personally recommend the bistro and the 90 Mile Blues Club that have blues jams and guest artists there on the last Friday of each month .. The Bowls Club offer 3 greens, Croquet and a gaming room and different levels of membership to cater for all levels of participation in club activities and for affiliated local groups as well as simply social membership for those that would just like to have dinner and drinks at club prices .. Beautiful dining area, light and bright and staff very accommodating. Meals are smaller than average and comparable to same prices in venues also in Bairnsdale. Porterhouse steak was sliced like a fillet of fish and presented same so very disappointing. Roast meal was two slices of meat no bigger than 4cm in diameter. Whatever became of the salad bar and complimentary bread, as well as polite and friendly staff. Our meal last night was the roast lamb and vegetables. The lamb tasted as though it had been sliced two days ago and left under a heat lamp. It was as dry as the proverbial camel's droppings.
