Beechworth Bakery, founded by Tom O'Toole in 1984, started as a small bakery in Beechworth and has grown to include bakeries in multiple locations, including Bright, with a focus on family-owned operations and delicious baked goods.

Here's a more detailed look at the Beechworth Bakery's history:

Founding: Tom O'Toole established the bakery in 1984 after purchasing the Ideal Café and Milk Bar and transforming it into a bakery.

Expansion: The bakery has expanded to include locations in Beechworth, Echuca, Albury, Bendigo, Ballarat, Healesville, Yackandandah and Bright.

Family-Owned: The bakery is family-owned and operated, with Marty Matasoni, who started working for Tom at age 13, now co-owning the bakeries with Tom.

Bright Location: The Bright location, part of Victoria's High Country, is a popular spot for visitors and locals, offering a wide range of freshly baked goods, including pies, cakes, coffee and more.

Community Involvement: Beechworth Bakery is known for its commitment to the communities it serves, with the bakery in Yackandandah being a favorite for locals and visitors alike.

Legacy: Beechworth Bakery has built a strong legacy of excellent food and service, with Marty Matasoni continuing to uphold the values established by Tom.

Bright Location: The Bright location is a great spot to sit down and enjoy bakery delights, a coffee and catch up with...

Ummm so, have to say this is one of the best Beechworth Bakerys that I’ve been to. At first I was a little unsure and was gonna bail out but the lady that greeted us was so friendly and welcoming that I ended up buying some focaccias and snacks. Which leads me to the next part, the team who make the sweets! My god. You all deserve awards. I was blown away at how great all the product looked. The eclairs, Bavarian cream rings and everything looks insane! Hands down best I’ve ever seen. I wasn’t going to get anything but I just had to because they looked so good and it didn’t disappoint. I felt so good after leaving I even went and told a bunch of people a few days later how impressed I was. Amazing job! And the initial lady that served...

While satisfied with the bakery products, I was appalled by the service received this morning. I was the first in line waiting to pay at the cashier, the lady behind counter attended to a customer next to me instead of asking who is next; when I reminded her I came before that customer, she didn’t attend to me but just said ‘wait’. The next staff didn’t attend to me either after I raised my hand & tried to make eye contact signalling I was the next customer in line; When finally a third staff served me, I explained what happened, she brushed it off saying ‘well we couldn’t see everyone’ to my surprise, instead of showing any sign of...

Highly Recommend Beechworth Bakery - Bright. We have been visiting this Bakery every year without fail during the Easter time. We usually order Butter Chicken Pie but they have discontinued this Pie from all the branches. I request and suggest please if you can add Butter Chicken Pie back to the menu. This time we ordered Thai Red Curry Pie and Country Chicken Pie and must say they were delicious. Don't miss out on the Thai Red Curry Pie. The taste, cheese, Leaks and chicken is just too good. Will visit again soon. The service is also good. A Happy Customer.

I probably shouldn't be rating a bakery for a coffee but it was way below average. Wouldn't really mind paying $4.70 for a small almond milk coffee if it was nicely done, but for what I got overpriced. Update: I'm happy how you took the review, I often see businesses get offended and defend themselves. it was a nice sunny day for May and staff must have been busy. One of those days... Don't know when I'll return to Bright, but I'll stop over when I'm around Ballarat.
