Burkes Bakery — Restaurant in Victoria

My family and I visit Burke’s Bakery roughly every weekend- it’s great! The dessert is amazing, the hot chocolate is perfect. The coffee’s great too.

I visited again today (20/04/25)- and unfortunately I had a very different experience. Today I visited with some guests we had invited over for the weekend, and unfortunately the customer service was very bland. The first staff member was very professional and respectful.

Unfortunately, the other staff member was very curt and rude. She didn’t supply any cutlery with the cakes, and when asked, she gave us two spoons for the three year old among us. When we asked her for more spoons for everyone (we are ten people) she curtly replied that they are out of spoons and don’t supply spoons.

This is very odd and we have always been given spoons when served.

Oh, what awesome, friendly people! A huge thanks to Jenny for offering to make us coffee, eventhough she'd only just cleaned the coffee machine. Not expected, but certainly appreciated, and it was really good coffee too. And a special shout-out to the young lady who also served us. I'm sorry I didn't catch her name, but she was just lovely! Wanting to support local business, we stopped into Euroa on our way home from Melbourne and found most shops on a Sunday were already closed by about midday or didn't have a spare table, so even though you didn't have any indoor seating on a wet day, we were grateful that you were open and did not rush us.
