Oh my goodness. The food was ok. But the lady who served us - the old one - I've never seen such rudeness in the hospitality industry before. As we arrived, she waved us aside in a very offhanded manner. When I was looking at the menu and enquired about the fried rice, she thumped her hand down on the menu, to show me where it was printed. Then served me with warm water. I consequently asked for ice to go with the water. That was a big effort - she was very "put-out". When i added the ice to the water, it melted really quickly, so when she delivered the food, I thought I would save her a trip back to our table, and I very politely requested some more ice. She said "you've already got some". I said "yes, but it's nearly gone, cos the water is warm, it's melting the ice really quickly". She was very annoyed. She came back with a glass with all of TWO pieces of ice in it and thumped it onto the table ! The glass almost fell over. Such terrible manners. When we left, i told her she was very rude, then she started arguing - said i should have asked for cold water. That doesn't explain why she was so angry at having to give me some more ice. We couldn't get out quickly enough. Everything was just too much trouble for her. She's in the wrong industry. I will never go back...
Read moreJust passing through as the locals like to ask. My partner suggested a chicken parmy and some pool at a pub but I was in the mood for some Chinese.. risky choice in a small town but ah well...
So glad we did. It was busy.. for a Sunday where everything else was closed I knew it would be risky.
The owner (lady) welcomed us so warmly and politely stated there will be a bit of a wait. Was more than happy to oblige.. especially as the gin and tonics were poured so generously.
The food.. sooo sooo good! I will admit it's the classic Aussie Chinese food we all know and love but done so well.. and the serving sizes were 2x more than we expected.
All throughout the meal we were made to feel welcome when it's pouring rain outside and they were meant to close earlier than we were eating.
Can't fault this restaurant, truly a gem in a beautiful small town and deserve the business they are getting.
Just a note to the people who have commented on a rude owner, please be open minded to other cultures and their communication style, intense tones don't always mean rude. We genuinely felt bad reading some negative reviews when she is doing her best and serving not just generic Chinese food but quality and generous food.
Be kind...

I passed by and thought I could get a take out, just as I was looking at what was available on the menu, she started to pressuring me about what to order. I didnât look at the menu for long, till she said to me âYou donât even know what to eat.â I asked whether she has any recommended dish, she replied âI donât know who you are, just look at what sauce you want, I donât know what you like.â She said it in a super rude manners. I went it not more than two minute and I completely lost appetite and questioned myself why do I want to eat here when the customer service is literally the worst...
