After 319 reviews and most of them being positive I decided to take my family here for our weekly Sunday out. Food wasn’t very good. Got a Steak Sandwich which was VERY small for $26. Got a Greek Lamb Wrap which was horrible, it was filled with mostly olives and tzatziki. Tasted more like something else... 🤮 Kids cheeseburger was $10 and can be described as just a overpriced mini patty a pinch of cheese and sour tomato sauce. Told the staff but the staff didn’t care. Presentation of the food was fine, inside the restaurant looked like a hoarder with OCD. The tiny restaurant was at full capacity during a new phase of restrictions, less that half were eating inside and out. 4 tables outside and 3 inside and not every chair at each table was taken. They were not at full capacity with no restrictions so there is no reason for running late and putting out bad food. They were over their restricted capacity if you count the amount of people waiting inside for take away without masks on. Staff told 1 person that I seen to go outside (but that person came back inside) and another to pull up their mask. Others were not told. Staff didn’t care. Was nice to see that staff wearing LGBQT...
Read moreYesterday, 19 Jul'20, with great excitement seeing this beautiful cafe we looked forward to having a great lunch in the outside dining area in a beautiful setting. We were a group of 8 - 2 x families each with 2 x children. We were informed that due to COVID-19, the cafe is serving a maximum of 6 people in a group. After suggesting that we will sit at 2 x separate tables, the waitress agreed that we could dine. When we were ready to place our order the waitress informed us that the Manager decided they will not be serving us as our group is more than 6, even sitting at separate tables. We were asked to leave. Where is the common sense in this decision? Is it a problem to dine in the same area if you know the diners at another table? How ridiculous! They lost at least $200-$250 in not serving us. We found it rude and upsetting. We will never stop in Rosedale ever again! Loved that quaint little town - but leaves a bad taste in the mouth! Will rather stop in Sale or Traralgon. Goodbye Cafe 3847. Goodbye Rosedale!!! If this is the way you treat you customers don't in the future call out for customers to come spend their money. You certainly...
Read moreI walked into the cafe with my family with high hopes - it had been years since we came here, and had fond memories about the place. Unfortunately, yesterday's dining experienced tarnished our perception of this cafe and we're never to return.
Firstly, the tables were not clean, at all. There were crumbs all over it, and we had to use the menus to wipe them away. The servers did not even acknowledge the mess, and were altogether smile-less and not friendly.
The interior design was like walking 1930s, which was rather pleasant, I'd admit, but everything was incredibly dusty and the floors were dirty.
Now, the food.
The $16 eggs your way was simply sad. Two eggs on toast, a few herbs, that's it. No attempt of good presentation, no redeeming qualities.
The soups were nice and filling, but the burger!
I'd ordered the Gippsland burger and boy-oh-boy was I disappointed. First impressions were not good. It was messy, difficult to pick up, DRIPPING with juices. The patty was dreadful. Dry, tasted frozen, a bit off and HARD. The chips were cooked in dirty oil. Altogether, not a...
