Capri Cafe — Restaurant in Victoria

Very disappointed in the service provided here. After having purchased a late lunch at 3:20 in the afternoon from this establishment, I sat to enjoy the food in the air conditioned space near the front door. Due to being almost 37 weeks pregnant, cool air on a 30 plus degree day is appreciated. Obviously my attendance was not. I was approaches shortly after sitting down by the older woman from behind the counter and told that I could sit here 'this time' but was not welcome to sit here again unless I ordered a plated meal. Supposedly I ordered a 'takeaway' and that was not welcome inside the establishment. I wouldn't have a problem moving, if the cafe was full...but I filled the 3rd table out of about 20 - 25 empty ones. Thanks for...

In response to your reply. We have now been to several cafes in and around Ballarat, for sit down coffees or meals, and all that was required was a name and contact number.

Thumbs down for turning my 85 y.o. mum away. I get (and totally support) the checking of ID, however, my mum has never had a drivers licence, so she has no ID with her address. Staff at Capri asked if she maybe had some mail with her that had her address. She happen to have a voucher from Susan with her address, which she then showed the woman. Apparently, that wasn't good enough. My mother's friend had already shown her ID (she's also local). If you are still not going to serve her after she produced her address, then don't bother...

I recently visited Capri Cafe and had a wonderful experience! The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing coffee break. I had coffee and gnocchi, and I was thoroughly impressed.

The coffee was rich and aromatic, giving me the perfect caffeine boost. The gnocchi, on the other hand, was an absolute delight—soft, fluffy, and perfectly cooked, with a sauce that was simply divine. The combination of flavors was spot-on, leaving me craving for more.

The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure I had everything I needed for a pleasant dining experience. Overall, Capri Cafe is a gem in Ballarat, and I can't wait to visit again!
