Our experience at Che Vuli was a bit disappointing. Firstly, we were seated at a table with other people, and I found it a bit uncomfortable since I wasn't expecting it, but I got over it. As we were cold, we asked to be moved or placed next to the heater. A gentleman came to us quite arrogantly, saying that they had many bookings and were doing whatever was possible. However, no one was seated in the available spots around us for the time we spent there. Now, being fair, the food we ordered (La Bella & Che Macelllo pizzas) was great. Good temperature, light and very tasty. The dessert, however, left a lot to be desired. We had the Triangolli alla Nutella. It was nicely presented and had a big portion, but they must describe the food honestly. The topping was waaay too liquid to be Nutella and didn’t taste like it. It was clearly a sauce made with milk and potentially a hazelnut spread. Nothing wrong with it being a sauce, but that must be written on the menu. The worst was hearing the same gentleman from before saying that the consistency was due to the hot temperature. If you do want to go to Che Vuoi, I recommend getting a savoury pizza but the dessert should be from somewhere else.

Unwelcomed experience. Despite booking a table. We were left waiting and standing for almost quarter of an hour at a congested front area. It was difficult for two of our party with severe health limitations. No offer to sit or drinks at the bar. Dodging takeaway orders and waiting people. Gentleman behind the bar and counter exhibited quite an arrogant air. We felt very compromised at the outset. Our table wasn't ready. Service was patchy. It was difficult to get attention of a waiter. It took quite a while to place our order. The main courses arrived at different times. Pasta dish was not hot. Some pizza bases are very wet, doughy and slimy. Certainly difficult to handle too eat. They weren't eaten. Perhaps a slightly longer cook would have helped. No offer of reformation made on mention of the uneaten pizza. The restaurant was busy and very noisy so it was difficult to maintain a conversation easily. We left to get some desserts and coffee etc elsewhere. Disappointing as we are part Italian and frequent the area....we were looking to find a quality venue.

We had a great night at Che Vuoi. The food was yummy and atmosphere felt authentic and traditional, which we enjoyed a lot. We shared the pork and beef Ragu, the mushroom tortellini and a capricciosa pizza. Highly recommend the mushroom tortellini. The ragu was more of a Bolognese, probably wouldn't get this dish again. The pizza's are a great size and ours was full of flavour. The staff were nice, I have experienced better service though. One of the waitresses was a little passive aggressive when we asked where one of our cocktails was. However, the bartender was very friendly and we were very surprised when he gave all 12 of us a complimentary limoncello when we paid our bill. I do look forward to returning to Che Vuoi, overall a great experience.

We, 10 in total, were seated outside the main restaurant building in a marquee style add on. Little bit cramped but not an issue. The view was to die for, wooden paling fence partly obscured by hessian hung over the transparent pvc marquee wall, but not enough to obscure the flourishing weed jungle in the space between the fence & the wall. Maybe it was Italian grass. There was a dehydrated stunted cypress tree struggling for light & sustenance amongst the "grass", reminded me of the entrance to Maximus' property in Gladiator. He was Italian too. I couldn't have cared less & normally wouldn't mention something that has no influence on the dining experience, but they've earned every bit of negativity that comes their way. Food was good across the board, no bad reports from anybody, and reasonably priced. Wait staff were excellent, attentive, responsive, personable and knowledgable regarding the menu. The 5 star rating is for them. Thankyou. That's where the positives end. The gentleman (tall Italian) at the register processing payment, (in fact that is a lie, he's no gentleman), left a sour taste in our mouths that will not be forgotten. Put simply, the rudest, most arrogant individual I've ever encountered in a customer service environment. Ever. Anywhere. I'm having a guess, perhaps he is the proprietor, if so, he should stay at home & let somebody with some common courtesy run the show. If his behaviour towards paying customers is any indication of how he treats his staff, God help them. There is no mention on the menu of "no split bills", nor was this mentioned by wait staff at any time, but obviously this person was pissed off that a group of 10 would wish to pay a substantial bill on a per couple basis. Presented with a barely legible invoice, (1980s circa printer to match the service?) each individual had to add up their own personal bill in their head, while being badgered by a boorish oaf, rolling his eyes, hurrying people up for being too slow & holding others up - including to an 83 year old woman. In short, a gormless bully. Before long, a woman took over the task of processing the payments which were then completed with far less brouhaha. Maybe she is familiar with this person's unpleasantness & recognised his incompetence & churlishness & stepped in to take control. Or maybe he is aware of his own personality traits that prevent civility in dealing with his customers & willingly ceded control. In summary, I would sooner eat sand off the shores of the Barwon River than part with one more cent of my hard earned to eat...

Overrated | Arrogant | Rude | OK food

We booked a table inside but were seated under the tent, outside, which they consider being “inside”. The managers have clearly never eaten “inside”. It was disturbingly LOUD. If we wanted a pub vibe, that’s where we would have gone. When we asked if we could go in the real inside that we initially booked, we have been told it was fully booked. The entrees were fabulous. The mains were good but nothing special. The service was average at best. One of the waitress rolled her eyes at us when we asked to find a more quiet table. They did not clear the starters before serving the mains that they knew we were planning to share. The waitress was surprised when we asked new little plates. You’ve got to wonder what kind of training they have received. Again, pub vibe. It was so loud that we left as soon as we could. We decided to spend the money for 4 desserts and more drinks somewhere more welcoming. When we paid, the arrogant manager asked if we had a good time. We said that it was noisier than expected. He mocked us and laughed at us. No shame. Fair to say we will never go back and we do not...
