Drouin Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Victoria

We tried this Thai restaurant whilst on holiday from the Yarra valley, and compared to what we have had before this was just okay.

I had the Massaman curry, and my fiancé had the Stir fry beef with vermicelli. Both meals were adequate.

Taste: both were well cooked and tasty and included a lot of protein over vegies which for the price was worth it in my opinion.

Presentation: Served in what appeared to be a gravy bowl, kind of made things off putting, with also making it a smaller portion overall and not making use of already set up place settings which were just taken away anyway.

Service: Our waiter was very eager, in fact a little too eager to take away our dishes when finished as he would take the bowls away as soon as we had taken our last bite.

Overall, the vibe was okay, wasn’t busy when we had dinner at 6:30pm but was nice for a night out but wouldn't...

Consistency is key here and that goes for the food an highly inaccurate wait times.

You could do one of two things: order and wait… or: order, then drive to Melbourne airport, fly to Thailand, book a hotel and then enrol in a local cooking school. Over the next few weeks you’ll learn the ins and outs of cooking delicious meals, where they came from and the stories behind each meal. You can then enter a competition and depending on your skills, win or loose. You can then walk back to the airport. Board a plane and fly back to Melbourne. Upon your arrival I’d suggest you walk back to Drouin as it’ll take a couple of days, then it’ll just be a short 25 to 700 minute wait for your delicious...

We’ve been here three times in the last two months. Last run down we brought our neighbours with us.

The food was fantastic, and we all felt the price was really good for what we got.

The service could have been a little bit more tentative, I was really in the mood to have a few drinks but they only came to the table once throughout the night.

I was really happy with all the different dishes and the level of spice of some of the hotter ones.

The restaurant could probably do with a little music or something but the tables were clean and beautifully set.

Overall cannot wait...
