Ferguson Plarre's Bakehouse - Wendouree — Restaurant in Victoria

I made an online order for a Funfetti drip cake and went it to collect it in Stockland Wendouree. When I saw shown the cake I pointed out that it had a big crack on the top and was told I could t have a discount because I paid online, the staff member then spoke to the manager or whoever was in charge and his response was “it’s only the icing”, he did not address me, offer a solution or even apologise for the poor quality. They told me I would be able to fix it myself and they couldn’t do anything because they get their cakes delivered from Melbourne. The display board is also messy with what looks like chocolate smeared that is not from our cake as there is no chocolate in this design. The cake was $72.50. Really poorly done and poor customer service - would not purchase another...

At 3.45pm today I tried to sit to enjoy an after work coffee and a slice. I was greeted by a few customers seated around tables while staff packed up chairs 😮 that is seriously bad etiquette. It's like standing behind them saying "Ok you've spent your money, now hurry up I want to go." I gave my order to staff hoping to sit and enjoy a few minutes respite after work. "Sorry we aren't doing table service I can give it to you in a takeaway". "Thanks don't bother."

You apparently close at 5.00pm but your staff stop welcoming customers an hour and a quarter early. I understand they are pressed to get cleared away at the end of the day but such poor customer service reflects badly on your training or communication...

To the owners: I have just visited your bakery today and must commend the two young ladies on duty. It was busy but they held their composure and served each customer with patience and the deserved attention. They were polite in telling the waiting customers that they would be with them shortly while serving the other customers. That's what makes an enjoyable experience in visiting any hospitality venue.
