We were part of a group celebrating a birthday downstairs in the restaurant. There were two run off their feet waiters, one obviously very new to the job. She kept walking with her hands in her pockets. Thank you to the lovely young man behind the bar. He was very nice and genuinely tried to help. We ordered the $47 banquet. It started with a plate of what I think was beef. That was after waiting about an hour. No rice. Just meat. We asked the young man regarding getting our soup first as is the case with all banquets. There was some confusion it seems with the kitchen. We eventually got our soup. I like a bit of seasoning in mine so I asked for the salt and pepper. I was brought two sad looking salt and pepper shakers. The salt had about 5 rocks left in it. I asked it to be filled up please only to be told "That's all we have". Next came the dumplings. They were ok. Then more meat but still no rice. We had to ask for that again. Then everything came out at once. We had food everywhere. The fish was beautiful but could have done without the bottled sweet and sour sauce. The chilli prawns were nice, perhaps bit too much batter on them. Don't bother with the Mongolian lamb. Some pieces were warm others hot, others too cold. It also tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for a few days. Didn't eat much of that one. The sauce was also not well developed. Then came desert. If fried ice cream is what you love, forget it. A huge ball of frozen ice cream with cold crumbs covered in strawberry syrup. Did not eat that. Neither did my partner eat the cold banana fritter. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant and we will not...
Read moreWe were a party of 3 people, so we ordered alot of dishes. We ordered the dumpling mixed plate.... ok We ordered 2 prawn dishes (difference sauce topping). Chillie sauce prawn dish was ok....too oily Mongolian beef dish ok.... Pork rib fried was rubbish, hardly any meat and was hard. Honey chicken was so bad, just battered and it was hard to chew. Chicken was like pea size or zero. Soup was bland and tasteless, we throw away the entire bowl. We order the dumpling entree but it came after the main. And instead of bring one main meal after we finish the first, they brought out all the mains at the same time. The worst was they brought the entree last Very bad overall... wont be coming back. Nothing special with any of the dishes.... actually alot of the dishes we order was poorly cooked or just crap. Photos: 1 n 2....... prawn dish 3..............fried pork rib dish 4 Mongolia dish 5 dishes soup bowl 6 fried honey...
Read moreIf u are craving some Chinese cuisine, this is the place to be at. The food is awesome but the level of service and attentiveness is even more impressive.
We were expecting a highly localized taste but were instead presented with dishes that hits close to home.(we are a group of travellers with a 2yo toddler from Singapore). The server explained that the chef upon noticing we are Asians(and obviously not locals) took extra effort to make our food more suited for Asian tastebuds.
The server also served us with a jar of chilled boiled water and mentioned he usually tried to keep one around in case a family with kids drops by. I thought that was a nice touch!
Lastly, you don't leave a dumpling store without ordering the dumplings, it's literally a crime. We ordered a taster basket and were impressed with the quality and range of dumplings.
Definitely...
