I recently had the pleasure of visiting Garlands Bakery in Kangaroo Flat township, and I must say, it was an incredible experience from start to finish. From the moment I entered, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately made me feel welcome. The bakery itself is charming and well-designed, with a wide variety of delicious treats on display. The smell of freshly baked bread and pastries filled the air, making it impossible to resist indulging in a few treats.
The staff at Garlands Bakery are constantly busy attending to the high volume of customers, but they do a great job of providing excellent service despite the bustling atmosphere. While there may be a slight wait to be served, the staff's dedication to serving customers efficiently is commendable.

Read moreStaff speak extremely rudely to customers. Including those with disabilities.
Went in at 11:30am and asked for a chicken schnitzel Roll. I was rudely told that they didn't have any. Why advertise them on your menu, saying that you have then when you don't?
Went over to look at their sandwiches. While there, I heard Staff telling another customer off for waiting to be served at the sandwich counter.
Staff rudely told her where to line up "so that WE can see the line"
Absolutely nothing to indicate where they wanted us to line up. No signage, no barriers, Nothing.
The customer who had been told off then commented to me that Staff had an additude.
I have visited twice. I have had pastries and sandwiches and coffee.
The coffee is extremely bitter. I asked for 4 sugars, but God knows, maybe they were too lazy to put sugar in? Even with 4 sugars, the coffee was still bitter!
The pastries were extremely dried out and bland.
I had some mixed sandwiches. They put them on a thin, flimsy piece of cardboard and then wrap them in cling wrap. The tomato was cut extremely thickly. The sandwiches looked like they had been literally thrown together. They looked like Staff had cut the round of sandwiches into little triangles, and then pushed all of them together. The end result was that the bread separating the sandwich fillings, got stuck to the next sandwich via the bread on each side of it. Additionally, the sandwiches were sitting very close to the edge of the flimsy cardboard base. If the cling wrap hadn't been on the sandwiches, You would definitely lose the lot.
I can't understand how they get so much business with service and food quality like this?
I definitely...
Read moreThe service was appalling to say the least! It was my sons 12th birthday on Saturday 20th April 2013 and we decided to go to Garlands in Kangaroo Flat for lunch. I believe in promoting independence, dignity and respect, and the best way to do this is to let my children order for themselves while supported by my presents. Building confidence and self esteem by ordering for themselves. This also teaches my children dignity and respect and what is acceptable when speaking to others. HOWEVER!!!!! My was served first. He ordered a sausage roll and asked the waitress what the chocolate eclairs where called...... She ignored him and began to served another customer. I was shocked and appalled at her rudeness we began to walk out.. she then yelled " He was taking too long"......... I can honestly say I have never seen such a display of rudeness in all my life. It is called customer service for a reason, when your serving a customer it takes as long as it takes. I would hate to see this lady serve a disabled person who has difficulty in communicating. I believe she treated him this was because he is a child. How do we as parent teach our children to respect adults when they are treated in this manner. I will never enter this Bakery again, and tell everyone about this appalling behavior towards my son and us as a family. I had to then explain to my children that this behavior is unacceptable and that most adult do not treat anyone like this, that this was a lesson in what NOT to do. RUDE...
