DO NOT GO HERE‼️‼️
This is NO exaggeration. I came here on Friday night (party of 8) at 6:30pm with only another 3 tables occupied in the restaurant. Of the bat it took the staff 15 minutes to ask if we wanted any drinks entrees or mains. After waiting another 15 minutes our cans of drinks finally came (cans shouldn’t be too hard to get prepared??) I ordered the $20 curry laksa and what I got handed was some small $8 soup, I told them it was wrong and they took it back. Within 20 minutes the actual curry laksa came (was watered down and non flavoured, oh and My main came before everybody’s entrees.)
It took another 40 MINUTES for them to come and ask if our dim sims have been given out yet?!?!?!?!! They had not. So after another 30 MINUTES the dimsims arrived THEY WERE COLD (how can you seriously get steaming a dimsim wrong?) We arrived at 6:30 and our mains finally got to us at 8:00pm. Utterly disgusting. People around us were also getting their food replaced because it was also too cold. I know the business is new, but if you start a business and can’t adhere to basic cooking and business standards, you shouldn’t have joined in the first place. Very very...
Read moreHappened to find this place for dinner on our short one-night trip to Philip Island. It is way beyond our expectations to have such a delicious Chinese dish in this area. Dumplings are a must-try, especially the boiling Pork & Chinese Cabbage ones. The feeling of explosion of the mixed juice of meat and veg from dumplings in your mouth is hard to beat. The flavour of the honey chicken is so balanced. I personally don't like too sweet ones, but this one can be tasted with a reasonable sense of sweetness under the caramel flavour. (It really surprised me that caramel flavour in honey chicken, cuz it is not usually to be seen in it/ absolutely a point up for this dish!!!) Not having much honey chicken in my life but this one is definitely one of the best. We also added spring rolls and chicken corn soup after we found the previous two dishes were amazing. Both of them are perfect, and the veg spring roll is another hidden gem in the menu. 70+$ for 18 dumplings, honey chicken, spring rolls, chicken corn soup and one soft drink is far more worth it for both portion and quality of the food. Definitely will come back for another meal on our next trip to...
Read moreI recently dined at Grandma's Dumplings Kitchen in San Remo, and I was really let down by the experience. The service was extremely slow, and the staff seemed disinterested and inattentive. It took forever for our order to be taken, and even longer for the food to arrive.
When the food finally did come, it was disappointing. The dumplings were bland and lacked the flavor one would expect from a place specializing in them. The texture was off too, with some dumplings being overcooked and others undercooked.
The ambiance of the restaurant didn't help either. It felt cramped and poorly maintained, with tables that were sticky and an overall unclean feel to the place.
Overall, Grandma's Dumplings Kitchen did not meet my expectations. The poor service, lackluster food, and uninviting atmosphere made for a very disappointing dining experience. I wouldn't recommend it based...
