I stopped in there with my two young children last weekend to get a quick drink and a bite to eat. All of the staff were magnificent in making us feel welcome and going above and beyond what could be reasonably expected. Despite my daughter dropping, and smashing, her babycino which she had practically finished consuming already, they insisted on replacing it free of charge and they were very kind to wave away my apologies and get the mess cleaned up. I inexplicably failed to see the cutlery and napkins on offer at a central location and when I asked for them, they were kind enough to grab them without simply telling me where they were or rolling their eyes. My daughter was in a wheelchair due to a bone condition and they were caring enough to sensitively enquire into her needs. The food was great, the drinks were great but it was the wonderful staff that ensured we would come back.

I'm not sure we were the ideal customers that day but their patience, kindness and empathy made the visit great and I thank each and every one of them for their contribution to making that happen. I did not ask for or expect those little actions but they were greatly appreciated in the...

Would not go back to this Coffee venue. Treated like a second grade citizen. Was halfway through my coffee order and was 'asked by the lead person' to go and sit outside and someone will come and take our order. That was done, but when we went in to pay, was again asked to ago back outside and told someone would be out to process our sale so we could pay. Then, the ipad would not work, so went back in to pay, which is what I wanted to do in the first instance. When I challenged the lead person, I was told that they needed to 'move me on' as there were others waiting behind me to order. What the? ...... I was already halfway through ordering when asked to go outside the first time!. Should have moved on then. Not sure if it was because we had leather jackets on….some with sewn on patches, or WHAT. Not a venue I would recommend or go into again....

We usually have breakfast at Eli & Ivy and absolutely love it there, but since their café is currently closed due to fire damage, we decided to try Grant Street Grocer. Unfortunately, we left very disappointed.

I ordered the Smashed Avocado with a side of mushrooms ($29), which seemed reasonable at first, but when the meal arrived we were shocked at the portion size. The menu should really state snack-sized or kids’ portion. It was a single small slice of sourdough with avocado and two poached eggs barely fitting on top—not nearly enough for a proper breakfast.

To make matters worse, the two coffees we ordered with our meals didn’t arrive until about 5 minutes after we had already finished eating.

Sadly, it was a poor experience overall. We won’t be returning and will happily wait for Eli &...

Let me tell you that we travelled nearly 100kms just to have the Gnocchi again at The Grant Street Grocer within a week. While the menu didn't have Gnocchi the second time around, which disappointed some of us, but I was content to order the noodles again. Well, I guess that now I don't really have to say much about the quality of food here. Although, I wish the quantity was a little bit more. Grant St. Grocer has much more than the food. They sell grocery items and ready made meals. The vibe is amazing and sitting outside is great because of the fresh air and the surroundings.

They serve one of the best iced lattes! I tried it once about a year ago, was super impressed, and came back on our way to lake Eildon just for it. My other go-to spots for iced lattes are St. Ali and Pete’s. The full-cream milk version tastes better than the oat milk one. Had the trout risotto today—it was amazing! Adding a squeeze of lemon juice really made a big difference in flavour for me. We also brought home their coffee beans. There is card surcharge but no weekend surcharge.

Lovely place in alexandra only a small drive away from buxton and has top quality food and service. I recommend the iced chocolate 😉 also has a great variety of food and drink options. Not to mention the locally stocked shelevs of various beverages, condiments and sweet treats! Also very reasonably priced here i have imaged the bowl of chips, porridge, pork gyozas and the smashed avo (There were 6 gyozas but i ate two already)
