This was our 2nd visit and i cant believe i actually was worst than the last time we went.
Recap, last time service just needed a fine tune and wait times needed a bit however this time i was so unhappy with the experience that im just going to drive to San Remo to Mario's because at least i know my service will be spot on and Mario will make me dinner to die for and worth feeling fat over.
Book a table for 6.30. Arrive and they've seatef people at the table so she just moves us to a new table. No big deal. She says ill be back in a minute with water and to take your order. This waitress NEVER returned to our table the whole night. And she looked as though she was high on something.
So we wait 10 minutes and go up to the bar to get that water and that we were ready to order and she says sorry i forgot where you were. Still no one comes. Some other lady sees we are about to get up and go for round two and finally takes our order. Still no water however. And 3 of them have time to stand around laughing and joking. So when they finally do our drink order its left sitting there while people seated after us are getting thier drinks. The other waitress tells us our drinks are coming so we ask for the water we've asked for multiple times to which we are rudely told "yes okay its coming we're a bit busy here." So our entree comes before the drinks. Then our drink order. Then our water and before we've even finished our first piece of garlic bread our mains arrive. Now i know i've pissed someone off here but i can live with the drink i didnt order as wine is wine at this stage and i know im no longer waiting for anything but then my carbonara tasted like scrambled eggs but hey learnt my lesson from complaining at this stage so we eat what we can stomach and pay $90 for 3 drinks, cheesy garlic bread, a pizza and 2 carbonaras.
And enjoy that $90 we wasted cos thats the last i'll ever spend there.
Again if you want good food go to San Remo and have Dinner at Mario's because he's actually good at cooking...
Read more15th of November 2020. 7pm dinner service. Myself and three friends decided to support local and decided to eat here out of all other restaurants in cows. I own a cafe myself in a tourist town and know how hard the last few months have been- this is however not an excuse for poor service and a lack of standards. We were seated outside and given water which had floating food scraps from a previous table in it. We decided to put this aside and continue to order (after alerting the staff to this, their reaction was more so oh well than concerned about the misshap). My partner ordered a chicken scallopine, once at the table the serve of chicken was very small for $25 and was dished with shoe string fries- the chicken was dry and plain. I myself ordered a Parma and was disappointed with the taste of the Parma- it had a frozen/fermented taste. My friends ordered a steak which was not cooked to her request of medium rare as well as a pollo fungi pasta which was bland. My partner expressed his concern to a waiter who proceeded to swap out his original order for a Parma- he was too disappointed with the taste of the food for the second time. When the Parma was brought out it was spilt over my partner and little concern was shown. When we tried to give feedback it was quickly dismissed and the only thing they were concerned about was that a replacement meal was offered. We spent about $150 and did not expect a refund but it would have been polite for the store to offer after our experience. So we walked away un-satisfied which has lead me to writing this review- if it was my own cafe I would have done everything in my power to make sure that my customers left satisfied and happy especially after such a rough six months. It is also to be noted that all female staff were wearing fake nails which is a direct violation of health and safety standards for both council regulations and department of health and human services. We will not be eating here again and have walked away VERY...
Read moreI was slightly dubious as my experiences with La Porchetta (depending on the location) are wildy on the opposing ends of the spectrum, either being really good or really bad.
I am happy to say this was one of those really good visits. We came in late on Wednesday night (my partner, myself and my daughter) so we expected the place to be only slightly busy. There were a couple of families enjoying their night and the lovely wait staff very quickly seated us with a chirpy and positive attitude.
The establishment was very clean and well ordered and we were given a few minutes to sit and peruse the menu before we were politely asked for our orders.
The orders came promptly and well presented, showing the chef has pride in his work. There were no complaints about the meals, as all were as described in the menu and nothing was overcooked.
Ultimately the experience deserves a 5 star rating, not in the sense of fine dining and a food extravaganza, but more that there was no negative in the experience and everything was either pleasant or higher. I would happily take my...
