We decided to give this Cafe another chance after being refused service at 2.15pm. At the time the website said closes at 4pm. It still isn't correct at 3pm. Smashed avocado on toast with fetta was very pricey at over $20.00 I was expecting a poached egg with it but looking at the menu it was an extra $4.00. Ridiculous this money making racket has become. The meal should come with an egg. Also ordered the bacon egg and cheese sandwich/Turkish with aioli. There was hardly any cheese on this no barbecue sauce which it used to have. Aioli was awful. There are also extras on this which cost a small fortune. This is definitely not as good since the new owners have taken over. Needs to change and include some extras with the meal. Also when 5 customers arrived after 2pm the staff did not look happy. Looking at the time. Why don't people want to put a full day's...
Read moreWe recently stopped by this nice spot for breakfast on Phillip Island. Despite the restaurant being nearly full, the attentive staff promptly arranged a table for our party of four, even without a prior booking.
Our drink orders included a wet chai, a cappuccino, a latte, and a matcha latte. While most of the drinks were well-prepared, the matcha latte was a bit too sweet for my liking as I didn't ask them to add sugar. It lacked the typical matcha flavor I enjoy.
For food, we ordered two eggs Benedict—one with bacon and the other with ham—along with a truffle mushroom sourdough and a smoked salmon delight. Each dish was freshly made and delicious, truly a treat for the taste buds.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone on Phillip Island. The combination of great food and attentive service made for a memorable...
Read moreClosed at 2.30 on a Saturday! Generous serving. No hollandaise sauce after 12.00! As I just got my food delivered some people came in, 2.35, said the kitchen was closed. In 15 minutes there were 12 people come through the door. All turned away. I had poached eggs, hash browns and bacon., coffee. Cost $24.50. 12 tourists turned away @ $25 per head = a loss of potentially $300, in 15 minutes. Are they too rich to bother? People coming from Melbourne are hungry, used to coffee shops being open all afternoon mostly. When are they going to wake up down here?!! I did point this out to the young man sweeping around my feet as I ate! Yesterday I missed out on lunch at San Remo. Closed at 2.00! We tourists are unaware of such ridiculously early closings. They want tourists down here, yet don't cater their eating hours for...
