Phillip Island Bakery — Restaurant in Victoria

Why at this bakery everything starting with "steak" is actually mince! Not one steak pie, no variety in sausage rolls, ever heard of chilli or cheese sausage rolls? You had a deal the other day was a regular coffee worth about 5$ and an egg and bacon roll for 12$? Advertised as a deal! You can't tell me that 1 small egg with 2 tiny bits of bacon in a small bun with NO cheese and cheap BBQ sauce is worth 7$ 😂 a deal is supposed to be cheaper not more expensive.. nice money grab. If you've read this far in my opinion the best bakery is the corner one in San remo then the newhaven one then the other san remo one and then the bakery that's way waaaaaaay behind is this cowes bakery. On a side note cafe biscotti just down the road from this bakery has pies and sausage rolls that cowes bakery absolutely cannot compare too, the coffee is better too and they open at 6am instead of 7.. 20 years and the menu hasn't changed, 20 years calling mince steak....

My mum has holiday accommodation in Rhyll and likes to try different food establishments so she can leave recommendations for her guests. Today we tried the Phillip Island bakery for the first time, only to be greeted by a rude young girl who didn't bother to ask if we were eating in or not and put everything in a paper bag and dumped each item one at a time on the counter, asking in between each bag (in a bored tone) 'is that all' After ordering coffee she then asked if it was takeaway. Not one thank you, please, have a nice day. We then noticed we hadn't been given sauce, so I asked if I could borrow the sauce bottle from behind the counter for my daughter's pies, to be told that it was for hotdogs and I would have to pay 30 cents per sachet for sauce for a pie. Free sauce for hotdog but not for pie???? Well, we have tried the bakery, will never be back and my mum definitely will recommend that her guest's go elsewhere for...

Strange thing that they don't have pricing mentioned on the top of the wall where they had listed the items they have to sell.....

Interesting 🤔 that no price tag is there next to pies....Pay as the cashier decides and customer cannot even cross checked of they got charged fair pricing or not ...Not sure they charged us for sauce as no bill/receipt was given as well 💵 😁

Steak and onion pie : More gravy, less onion and even lesser beef mince in this pie, pretty average

Chicken pie : Best of the lot, recommended

Veggie Pastie : Good shreds of veggies in there, tasty but lack of seasoning

Staff at counter was friendly hence the 3 star rating.... Location is prime....Can understand that cost of ingredients is high but eventually customer pays...
