Lola's Cafe — Restaurant in Victoria

Went today for the first time, meals were lovely until I found a hair entwined in my potato rosti. I was at the end of my meal so was not too fussed however, bought it the attention of the young team member. She apologized and took the hair and my meal to the older woman making the coffees who appeared as though she was in charge. She reviewed the said hair after putting her glasses on, went into the kitchen then returned to my table saying it was “impossible” and it could not have been entwined in the food even though it was obvious as there was food stuck to the hair. She even went as far to say it was my own even though my hair was much longer and a different color and again it was” impossible” as the cook does not have any hair. Having a look around all three of the serving staff all had their hair down including one team member with extremely messy and dirty dreadlocks. I even suggested it could be this woman’s hair as it was the same length and color to which she said she doesn’t go into the kitchen when I clearly witnessed all three staff in the kitchen at one point and two other older people, one a cook with grey hair that was out and untidy. I could not have cared about the hair a simple apology would of sufficed but the carry on from this rude woman left a lot to be desired. Here’s some genuine feedback and the first rule of hygiene in a food environment, all staff need to have your hair back even if you’re middle aged doesn’t eliminate you . Don’t be rude to your customers, remember they are more than likely local and will tell people about their horrible experience and a simple apology goes along way.

Its a shame as the food was lovely it was your customer service that was lacking as per other reviews, maybe you should take notice, as i said a simple apology would of sufficed and I have a photo of the hair entwined in the food, wish i could post that, oh and you mention dust which could of only come from the venue if that's the case and i dont operate in the area, i have lived there for 27 years and get nice hospitality at the other...

Had a customer at work recommend this as it is "the best coffee" she's ever had. Although it was good coffee, not necessarily the best by a long shot (for me anyways). Staff weren't rude, just a little short on conversation... They could have donned a smile at the very least. The cook/chef were probably the nicest looking and we're busy making beautiful meals for those eating in. I grabbed a large coffee and a ham/cheese croissant ($14 takeaway). The pastry was phenomenal and they didn't squash it in a sandwich press, more like baked it in the oven, so yum! The only complaint I have is that it seemed like they used mozzarella cheese (was stringy and creamy) which is not ideal. I'd suggest they use quality tasty or Colby cheese next time as they typically have better structure and taste with ham (toasted or as is). All in all a pretty good visit, but I'd pay the little bit extra and continue going to Baby Black Espresso Bar just a hop skip and a jump away through the rear car park. Now THAT'S the best coffee in Bacchus Marsh and still the best...

The staff at Lolas were very rude the only nice one was the young girl. We rang up and asked before we came did they do gluten free food they said “well what do you want, we do heaps of gluten free food”. My friend and I went here and when I asked could I have the gluten free burger they said no, I asked can I add gluten free bread they said no the chef won’t do that. I asked did they do gluten free chips they said no. I had 4 people trying to tell me what to order and how to have it which made me feel very pressured.

I couldn’t believe how the older lady’s were acting and all trying to take charge. They brought my meal out first and then I was almost finished by the time they brought out my friends meal. Then when I was finished my meal the lady just glared at me I moved so she could grab my plate and she just took it and walked off. When they took my friends plate they at least asked if she was finished and then took it.

I will never come back here due to the service and lack of accomodation to Gluten free. I do not recommend anyone come...
