Manifold Heights Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Victoria

I really wanted this to be decent and back the 'little guy' that everyone here has dumped all over. But unfortunately the shite reviews are all too true. To say this meal was underwhelming would be generous. 1 star for the fact that they are open on a Monday and the other for a fairly decent burger. The rest was bin-worthy.

Worst inter-personal skills I've ever come across. But if you're expecting world class 2-hat fine dining service from a chip shop then you really are a cheap bastard and could do with getting out more. You should, however, expect decent chips and possibly even decent fish from an establishment that's supposed to specialise in just that. Alas, it was not to be this time. I'd love to believe it was a bad night but it looks as though I'm not alone here....

Decided to try a new take away place using Google to discover somewhere I hadn’t been before. This was the result and it didn’t disappoint… OK, well I must admit I was disappointed Kabana in Batter wasn’t available after attempting to order it, after the initial excitement seeing it in the menu 😆 Obviously I had to try the homemade Potato Cakes, and they were delicious! Thin and crispy, just the way potato cakes should be. The other snacks I chose were great too. Loved the crispy batter. A little heavy handed on the salt when I specifically asked for only a little bit… but I totally get I’m a weirdo who only likes a little bit, while normal people like their fish & chips drowned in salt 😂 Prices for everything were...

Update * We have been getting their burgers at least once a month. They are still as good, maybe even better. Chips are really good, but too expensive for the amount you get. Fish always tastes nice, but sometimes too much batter. Its a hit and miss with Pumpkin Cakes, I love them thick with thin batter, sometimes the batter is far too thick, pumpkin too thin, then it makes them too greasy. I ask to see them first. Got a Hamburger with the lot. Surprised it had pineapple and beetroot. Very tasty, not greasy....
