The Yardz — Restaurant in Victoria

Went to The Yardz last night for dinner and had a 5.30pm sitting. Upon arrival we were greater by a waitress who informed us she was the only one working and before we even sat down asked us if we wanted a drink. When we said not yet she said we'll I have to do the tables in order so I will get back to you whenever I can and that we were not permitted to go to bar to purchase drinks ourselves because of covid regulations. The rest of our party arrived and instantly they asked if we were ready to order. They hadn't even sat down and looked at a menu yet. A little while after a different waitress asked us for our drink order, an eternity later all but 2 arrived and then we were asked if we were wanting more drinks when our first order of drinks wasn't even completed yet. We had to hunt down a waitress to order. We finally ordered. We had a 8yo, 6yo, 3yo and 1yo with us and we waited for another eternity for our dinner and when it did finally arrive the adults meals came first and we had some grumpy kids on our hands as it had been approx. 1 hour wait. the meals themselves were good however the service is extremely lacking. We had 2 people in at our table who have worked as chefs and kitchen staff for a number of years in the past and couldn't understand what was going on. I wouldn't recommend taking kids to this venue again and if you are willing to put off with some poor service and a lengthy wait for a not badly priced half decent meal then The Yarz is the place for you. Absolutely appalling behaviour from the girl at the bar, I've been to this place with my family & friends a number of time and also had great thing to say about it but tonight was the most terrible experience I've ever had. We waited 35min for a garlic bread which was a bit long but they're understaffed so i understood. There was a number of other people that hadn't gotten there meals after waiting over an hr so they walked out😒 When the meals came out to our table my hawian parmigiana was very spicy but I thought I'll try eating it cause i dont wanna wait another hr for a meal but it was to hot & burning my mouth, so I explained the problem to a staff member & they said well u have eaten some of it so ur not going to get a refund, i was like are u for real, I asked to see a manager n they got the girl from the bar and she was so rude & repeated what the other girl had said, i said i dont mind paying for the other 5 meals but i dont think its fare that I pay for a meal I can't eat due to a mistake made by the cook & she threatened to call the police if I didn't pay for it. I couldn't believe the way I was treated by her, the bill was paid in full but I'll never go back there again & I'll be sure to advise my friends & family not to...

Just finished an average lunch meal (over-cooked, mushy barramundi), which was interrupted by a violent bar fight which resulted in me being heavily bumped mid-meal and our table being knocked, spilling drinks, etc. Guys were yelling filthy, abusive language directly across our table after they were separated. Apologies to the young ladies (bar staff) who were trying to deal with it. Great effort. To the tattoo-necked ferals involved - grow up and get a life!!
