Overall, It's an average, 'middle of the road' Maccas & is just like hundreds of other Maccas spread across the country; it sells relatively cheap fast food that is made to taste ok by the addition of heaps of fat, sugar & salt. I've been to a few better ones than this, but I've also been to just as many that were worse too. I try to avoid these places as much as I can & would much rather go to an independent, local 'Fish & Chip' shop, but sometimes, there aren't any other options open. There's relatively little difference between this particular "restaurant" (& I use that term very lightly) & all of the other Maccas I've tried & if you've been to one of them, you've pretty much been to them all...But here goes my 'specific' review of this one: The very occasional food I've had from here has all been ok (as Maccas food goes), hot enough, with no more (or less) excess fat than most other stores. The service both when 'eating in' & in the 'drive through' has been fine, although nothing special, the staff are typical of Maccas; mostly teens with fake smiles, who are only there for the pitiful money they make. They generally serve stuff up fairly quickly, the coffee is again 'ok', but not up with what most of the local 'real' cafes make. Overall it's clean enough, although the dunnies can be bit grotty & smelly, & regularly have broken doors or locks (well, the 'Mens' are like this but I can't comment on the Womens). If you can't find anything else open, then by all means go there, the occasional meal won't kill you, but if any of the local take-aways or cafes are open, you'll get much better food at most of them, & importantly, more of your $$$ will stay in...
Read moreI usually love my McDonald's, but after my experience with Seth Hutchison, I’m never stepping foot in this location again. The moment I pulled up to the drive-thru, I felt something was off. Seth, who was working the window, seemed to have a bit of an attitude. I asked for extra ketchup, and he gave me the dirtiest look like I’d just insulted his mother.
I tried to brush it off, thinking it was just a rough day, but then it all went downhill when I went to park and eat. Suddenly, Seth appeared out of nowhere, like he had just McSensed my presence, and started yelling about how I had "disrespected the McDonald's sanctity" by requesting too many sauces. He was McMad. Honestly, I didn't even know they could get this angry about ketchup.
Before I could react, Seth stormed out of the restaurant and literally chased me into the parking lot, shouting, “You want extra ketchup? I’ll give you something extra!” I tried to explain it was just a simple request, but nope—he was ready to throw hands.
I don’t know if this is some sort of new McDonald's training program, but I was honestly shook when he took a swing at me right by the curb. A full-on McBeatdown. I haven’t been so terrified since I watched the movie "The Founder."
This location’s food? Always great. But Seth Hutchison? Straight-up terrifying. If you see him behind the counter, maybe just skip the ketchup—your safety might depend on it.
1 star for the food. Minus 4 stars for Seth. Do...
Read moreThis establishment is clean and well maintained most of the time and the staff are easy to get along with and very helpful.
Generally the food and drinks have been as ordered and as expected, but of course - as with most fast food outlets - on occasions there are errors.
Even so, I have found management and senior staff are quick and ready to address any issue if you approach them with good manners and sincerity.
24/7 service in a small town is very commendable and the fact that it's safe, clean and well managed makes this venue an asset to both locals and travellers looking for refreshment. Recent changes has made the queue disappear for dining in so try it out. The queue to the drive-through might take much longer!
It might be a little hard to see the location coming down the highway as it's 'hidden' around a corner but if you miss the driveway, don't despair - it's worth turning left at the corner for the alternative entrance, so go back and...
