Nelson's Pizza Bendigo — Restaurant in Victoria

I've been doing my own pizza research for the last 12 months, looking for my official favourite pizza joint for the Bendigo area. After trying what I would say is around 80 per cent of what bendigo has to offer I have come to the conclusion that Nelsons is my winning store. First and foremost, the pizzas are just out-right delicious. The cheese is always perfect. Toppings are spot on and bases are top notch. Secondly, the in-store service was fantastic the one time I picked up my order. Super friendly owner (I assume) and just a nice, cruisey vibe. Thirdly, delivery seems to always be super quick, which I am always impressed about, cos I'm pretty far away from their shop. Quicker than I would expect from some of the pizza joints in my own suburb.

Lastly the price. I think the prices are reasonable. Little bit more expensive than the fast food style pizza joints but definatly a fair price to pay for phenomenal pizza.

The pizzas here are just your bog standard chain conveyor type which are smothered in cheese that gets browned and a base that is cooked on the bottom, anything in between as in toppings don't get cooked, simply warmed up and that so called "ham" is a horrid cheap sausage similar to a devon. The stand out thing about this place is the exorbitant charges for extra toppings, on a large pizza it's $2.50 for onion and $4.00 for mushrooms and considering there was no more than 10-20 grams of each, it's a total ripoff.Oh and if you want BBQ sauce base instead of Tomatoe, that's an...

On holiday, so tried Nelson's after reading reviews. We ordered a Supreme, and a Jason Special, and we were very impressed. The Supreme was a bit oily, but that's expected given the amount of toppings (they obviously anticipate that, given that the Supreme has an extra piece of cardboard under it in the box). Very tasty pizzas, and very busy shop. Still was only 20 minutes wait. It looks to be very popular with the locals so call ahead.
