Came highly recommended. Struggled to get a park last time so gave it a miss. Really nice building with plenty of character and history inside. The meals are outstanding. The kids enjoyed their meals while wifey had a delicious seafood pasta and I had the slow roasted lamb shoulder which was top notch. Peaking at other tables the fish looked magic as did the pie and the pork belly. Will be back many times no doubt. Back again 4 days later. Today we had the parmi and the pie of the day. Pie of the day was a beef and red wine which was superb. The kids had fish n chips and spaghetti bolognaise. Can’t speak more highly of this place. Great staff and wonderful tucker. Back again on our way to Melbourne. Brilliant again. Porterhouse steak was good. Will add more pics Back again today. Food was very good as per every visit. Bit disappointed paying $4.60 for a tiny kids glass of soda water but we will come again. Back again 13/3/25 So welcoming. We just can’t see any place in Bendigo tipping this great pub. The whole family are loving being here again. Back again 8/6/25 Freezing outside today but very cosy inside with the fires going etc. how could we not pop in for a beer and a nice feed. Wifey had the beautiful lamb shoulder and I had delicious crumbed lamb cutlets. What a pub!!!! Back again 12/7/25 Beautiful food, amazing service. Pork belly was beautiful

Beautiful venue Friendly staff We attended last night for a birthday table with a larger table with some children, although the venue is beautiful seating was incredibly cramped but not much you can do about that on a Saturday night, kids meals and entrees came out swiftly the bruschetta was fantastic! My Parma presented well with one issue, the Parma covering 50% of both the chips and salad trying to fit it all on one plate ending in the Parma going soggy from the salad etc, maybe a slightly larger plate? Parma always average and felt like there was more to be desired maybe a crispier finish on the chicken and a thicker dressing on the salad, gravy was fantastic and the beers on tap were a great selection!

The only pub/restaurant we know that greet you as you open the door with "where is your mask.." across the bar in front of everyone like we are some diseased individual instead of "hello, how are you..." Had forgotten my mask which i was happy to get out of the car but my wife had a genuine medical reason but the big fella across the bar had insisted he needed to see the medical certificate like some detective which my wife was happy to provide and DID provide as he wasnt satistied enough. As my wife stood there humiliated, she said that by law no one is needed to provide medical certificate and disclosed for the condition of not wearing mask, he replied back and said "well you shoudnt have to eat here then, you can go" My wife did leave and said that is fine, have a good day... Tough times like this where local support business is needed, this guy/owner obviously do not need any of it which contradicts wearing a mask when youre drinking and eating anyways. Such a shame, they have a very good review which was the reason why we visited this place but his attitude tells another story which he would rather have people eat and drink through a straw. But when youre seated the mask dont apply anymore and out the window. I dont normally write a long review like this, but having my wife close to tears as she walked away was enough so think twice coming to this venue if you have a legitimate reason on not being able to wear a mask. Pathetic management and customer service skills of...

I recommended the venue to my visitors, having experienced the fantastic service and superb menus many times in the past. Sadly , because they had 2 children that were playing UNO on a vacant table, we were subjected to something that can only be derived as a sharp barrating by a senior staff woman. We had already discussed it with a male staff member who stated that it was OK until the reserved table was needed. However, as soon as he got back to the bar, this clearly disturbed woman bolted out and barked out with, " Are these your children ?" Response Yes.. Then she barked out, " Well, they need to move as all these tables are booked out" Her manner was acidic, abrupt, and her body language displayed her determination to get the job done as quickly as possible. and of a tone that was totally un necessary in that environment. To the point, we left, but not before my guest let her know how they felt. As for the response from the woman. " I treated you very kindly." No, that is completely untrue. Clearly, you don't like children and clearly do not belong in a venue that serves the public. Perhaps a more suitable occupation like a prison warden or perhaps that was your previous position. Sadly, this reflects on the venue that is renowned for the best service, best menus and friendly...
