Good food let down by indifferent service - Booked in for a early evening sitting on a Sat. The online system doesn't seem to take any bookings between 5.15 - 8.15, so given that there were customers arriving in that period I assume there is a more manual/ telephone system for booking in this period. We arrived at 5.15 to be seated in a window seat in direct sunlight. We asked to be moved to an inside table, many of which were free, but was advised that they were booked - for those who managed to get around the online system supposedly. Anyway we persevered. Drinks order was taken and arrived reasonably promptly. Thereafter it took 40 minutes for the food order to be taken. That too after we rounded up a waiter. This would have been OK, as we were not in a hurry but we were ushered out promptly upon completion of the 2-hour (or 1 hour and 20 minutes) dining window had completed. We ordered samples from each section of the menu - salads, banh mi, bao and dumplings. Either the waiter or kitchen had not paid attention to the order in which we requested the food to arrive and it was scramble. Having said that, the food itself was tasty, well presented and generously portioned. Except for the dumplings, which appeared to have been over-steamed and left to dry, such that the casings were like rubber. A well considered and diverse wine list was supported by the attentiveness to that portion of...
Read moreThis is my first review ever! It's over a week late but My experience and service was amazing so i just have to leave one. The staff are so friendly and the food and drinks are amazing. A special thanks to Kim who was so kind and lovely with a big happy smile which couldn't help but make you smile i return and the young Bartender Dillon who made us some special off the menu cocktails that tasted and looked amazing. Before making them he asks us what we liked and disliked wanting to make sure that he makes us the perfect drink, he then proceeded to make the perfect cocktails for us. One cocktail reminded me of a chocolate jaffa which tasted amazing ( i recommend trying it out). He can definitely up sale, we'll going to have a plane old vodka shots to finish the night off until he talked us into some jam doughnuts (which are delicious, better than vodka shots). Talking with Dillon was awesome, hes so nice, friendly and loves to joke which made it all even better. The care he had taken in making our cocktails tells me he loves what is does so I can't wait to return and try more of he's delicious creations. If I could give a higher star review I would. Thank you Kim and Dillon for your kind, loving service. We will...
Read moreYesterday (Friday), I took my son to Roy's for lunch. There were only a few customers, so it wasn't busy. I noticed there wasn't a kids' menu posted on the door, so I asked the waitress inside. She seemed to be in a sour mood and replied, "The menu is on the door, did you look? We don't have kids' menus, but we have fried chicken." Since my son wanted chicken, we decided to give it a try. However, the waitress took a while to come to our table. When I inquired about the Pinot Noir brand, she responded with a stoic face, "We only have one Pinot Noir!" The spring rolls I ordered were lovely and fresh, and the sauce was delicious. Although the Korean fried chicken didn't look appetizing, it tasted great. On the other hand, the Shitake Kooroko was beautifully presented but tasted awful; one bite was all it took! 🤢 We waited for the waitress to return, but she never did, so we decided to pay and leave. When I mentioned the poor taste of the Shitake Kooroko to the cheerful bartender who checked us out, he simply said, "Oh, so you didn't have a taste for it!" 😳 Overall, the place looked cute and colorful, the chairs were comfy, and the bathrooms were clean. However, the whole experience wasn't pleasant as we didn't...
