3 adultd called in for Sat lunch. Plenty of seats. Thermos of hot green tea on table. Chilli oil, fish oil, soy and hoisan sauce as condiments on table with cutlery chop sticks and box of tissues. In typical Viet fashion waiter upon you quickly with cold bottle water and glasses seeking your drinks and food order. We had the standard fare of mixed spring rolls, rice paper rolls and pho. Spring rolls came with lettuce and viet mint and dipping sauce. Pretty standard, tasty and nice but nothing outstanding. Different story for the rice paper rolls. Huge, tasty, fresh, biggest I've had anywhere with an absolute cracker of a peanut dipping sauce and lots of it. The pho was excellent with heaps of meat cooked just right for pho. Melb based viet restaurants should take a lesson from here for the amount of meat they have in their pho. Now you would not expect a Vietnamese restaurant in the white caucausion land of Ballarat to be so good, but having eaten viet in most of Melb suburbs, I can say this restaurant holds it own and in actual fact, for the food we had on this occassion beats the majority of Melb based viet restaurants. Definitely be back. And as usual, viet restaurant prices are reasonable and dont put too much pain on the wallet. Value for money here. Defintely recommend 13.5.24 update. Back for another visit and my opinion has not changed. This place is tops...!!. This time around chicken laksa and chicken pad thai. Flavours are incredible. I reckon the best in Ballarat by a mile. Still highly recommend.

Average food but ridiculously messy arrangement. I went there with my husband and 2yo son at 5:10. They gave us table for 2 and said my son can sit in high chair and disappeared. Very dangerous and my son will definitely block the road. We found another waitress for help and she switched us to table for 6 but the high chair still not with us. We cleaned the table and then they asked us to move to another table of 4…. No one gave us menu and high chair. We helped ourselves and finally we placed our order and waited over half an hour to get our food. We ordered stir-fried combination with rice and beef pho. These are simple dishes, have no idea why it took so long. We asked for bean sprouts and lemon but they didn’t give us(other tables had that with pho). We had waited over 10 mins to pay our bill as too many take away orders and they mixed up the orders…..turned out I had been charged stir fried combination (17.5) instead of stir fried combination with rice (15.8)…. I found that out after getting back to my table but too many ppl waiting there and don’t want to argue for that. Such an awful experience! I DO NOT recommend this place at all. Their staffs kept arguing. If you go there do check your bills.

The food was so good here, we had beef pho, combination spring rolls and chicken curry laksa and special fried rice, the rice has a funny story to it... The place is run by a husband and wife team. When the husband finished cooking the rice he put it into a take away container even though he knew we were eating in. The wife came to collect the rice to give to us and she said no! Table 16 is eating in, put it on a plate! As the husband started putting it on a plate he dropped the rice on the floor, so he started again this time putting it on a plate. The food was so good, served quickly and I had eaten my meal fast, I was so hungry when I sat down, by the time I was half through I decided to get the rice take away.... The wife went back to the husband and told him, well you can guess what he said😂😂 While he was packing the rice into a take away container, the wife told me what had happened, we all had a good laugh. Highly recommend this place, great service even when things don't go their way... Back there again in April 2023, I had the Spicy Beef soup. Now my new favourite soup!

The service was horrible. It was my first time here. The waitress was horrible. I don’t know if I should call it a discrimination of fellow asians while she was all smile with the white people. She was very rude, inattentive, and fought her customers when she was called out for her attitude. She actually almost spilled the soup when served to show her tantrums after the incident. The story was we came in, sat down, chose our food from the menu provided, husband went to the counter to place the order because we thought that’s how it is since no one came to assist us from the very beginning, been told to wait in our table and she will come, she came after a while, got our order in a very annoyed manner and couldn’t be bothered to explain their food and what can they recommend and etc (you know normal questions you ask when dining in) we were patient, by the way, the entire time and ignoring her attitude. But it continued, even when we follow up the order because it is taking too long and only been given dry vegetables (to add on to the soup). Isn’t it basic courtesy to explain what to expect, how long will it take or just be updated with the status of my order than being brushed off in a very rude manner, side eyed, mumbled in her language, banging the food served to you to show unhappiness while being told that the soup provided (no soup) was the vegetables provided in front of you. It was confusing and these servers are not accommodating at all. These people need to be taught basic customer service. We are not asking to be served like queens. IT IS A BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE and We are not a difficult/fussy customer. I don’t know if that lady is one of the owner. OMG if that’s the case then it just meant nothing will change. Because let me tell you, she wasn’t sorry at all. She didn’t apologise at all and the entire time she will mumble words when she passes by our table, banging and stomping in a very loud manner to probably show her frustrations towards us...
