My partner and I dropped by over the long weekend for coffee and breakfast. Although we were initially excited by the good reviews, we unfortunately left quite disappointed.
We ordered coffees, granola, and scrambled eggs on toast. Things started off promisingly with some really good coffee — but sadly, that turned out to be the highlight of the meal.
After waiting more than 20 minutes, my scrambled eggs on toast and my partner’s granola finally arrived. The scrambled eggs were underwhelming, tasting more like batch-cooked hotel eggs than something freshly made. The toast seemed to be store-bought bread, bland and unremarkable, which made the whole dish feel pretty lacklustre.
My partner’s granola was equally disappointing: the quality seemed average at best, and it was topped with several slices of a single strawberry and a few raspberries. Both of us found it pretty underwhelming in both presentation and taste.
Overall, based on our experience, I'd recommend visiting The Anxious Goat only for the coffee. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t return...
Read moreIf a small quaint cafe with delicious quality food is your idea of dining, this is the place. Atmosphere is urban garden and the staff is very friendly. Could use a couple more choices on the brekkie menu but everything we’ve had has been delicious. My father had Vindaloo for lunch and said it was the best he’s had. Soup was great. Just the right amount. Will go back.
*UPDATE Was sooner excited to bring more of my family here. My husband is a picky eater. Wanted a toastie with out the jam they had on it. Waiter told us they could not make substitutions because the sandwiches are pre-made. Seriously? How hard is it to make a sandwich? If you are someone who is picky and wants things changed even slightly. This place might...
Read moreGood coffee, but bland food The Anxious Goat is a very cute place and has a nice atmosphere. The staff were lovely and welcoming. My coffee was perfect and seriously good. The only criticism was the dish I ate was very bland. It looked good visually and everything was cooked perfectly, but I think the Mexi Goat Bowl really could do with a dressing. Healthy food can taste good. It has potential but the pickle was the only real flavour I could taste and in contrast the quinoa didn’t taste like it was seasoned at all. The pumpkin was roasted but again, tasteless. The avo was fresh, the salsa was made with fresh ingredients. However just lacked flavour overall. The corn chips were the highlight of the...
