I went to the Haven Wave Cafe at the beginning of March with 4 friends as were were visiting Phillip Island and staying nearby. It’s a really nice cafe with lovely outdoor tables. Sal, the owner, bought us menus, water and told us to take our time and come in to order when ready. Actually there are a lot of panini and sandwich selections available at the counter inside than what is shown on the menu. The food is great. We ordered a couple of the full brekkie and it is such a generous portion. All the food is fresh and tasty. The panini we ordered was really delicious and the drinks are served in big mugs and very good. It was definitely the best breakfast I had in Australia and probably even better than in the U.K.! However, the most memorable part of our visit was Sal. He has a larger than life personality and was so warm and friendly. We had a lot of laughs and jokes with him. The weather was pretty dreary that morning and looked like it might rain. We joked with Sal and said we would pay him $1,000 if he could make the sun come out by the time we left the cafe. Holy smoke, the sun actually started peeking out by the time we were ready to leave so we had to make s hasty retreat. We were sad to leave and before we left Sal gave us great tips on how to keep a marriage happy (happy wife, happy marriage). Thank you Sal for a fantastic time at your cafe. If you are visiting Phillip Island you should definitely visit Haven Wave cafe as it’s as much as an attraction as the penguin parade!

My friends and I really enjoyed this Cafe, to the point of collectively asking me to write a 5 star review. The food was amazing, the quality was like going to a great brunch place in the Melbourne city, but the customer service is even better. Portions were generous, and the drinks were lovely. My friends especially enjoyed the white chocolate mocha, which was their special. A lot of my friends enjoyed the Big Haven Breaky, but everything was equally delicious :). Thank you for making us welcome to Phillip Island, and comfortable throughout our dining experience!

My two boys mentioned to me "how friendly the staff were" after our lunch - I had the burger, so good, lots of salad too! The kids had the kids burger and kids fish & chips which they both enjoyed lots, too. I had coffee both mornings we were there (Strong flat white) - Props to Sal & Trish! Defo pop in for lunch or coffee. (Oh, had the bacon & egg rolls on the last morning with coffee, too, really good!) - Thanks! Sorry about the dodgy photo, couldn't stop eating to grab a decent one! (We'd just finished a 19km cycle)

Had a late breakfast here - Mighty Wave big breakfast, Omelette and a single serve pancake. I was able to take out the ham on my omelette and add mushrooms and spinach. Everyone loved their meal, tasted fresh and looked amazing. Great value for money. The owner was super friendly and paid an interest. I have to admit it’s been along time since I’ve eaten out and not felt like a number. I think I kept talking about how friendly the man was and interested in his customers. The food was excellent, my only gripe would be that I couldn’t have a coffee with oat milk as an option, my family said they coffee was...
