The Kangaroo Hotel — Restaurant in Victoria

Looked forward to my first visit to the best pub in Maldon, but it was not the best! Friendly service but i didn’t visit for that, I was hungry! The Parma was burnt, veges were cold and had the overcooked flavor. Other meals at our table not exiting either, better luck next time I guess. Back to the second best pub next week because it’s the best!! 😉✌️I will edit if anything changes after more visits.

I just upgraded from 2 to 3 stars because as I left when I was paying the bill one of the owners asked me how was everything my reply was do you really want to know she said yes I told her and she discounted my meal from the bill I said it’s OK she said no I said don’t worry about it she said no so very good service and she said please come back which we were anyway stay tuned for the next edit She did apologize no excuses. Booked on Easter Monday for a table for 6 - last minute but the owner was more than accommodating. I was presently surprised on how well the customer service was. One of the waitresses was the daughter in-law of the owner and had a great personality that made us feel at home and sense of humour. Small gifts to the ladies on the table was given. The food was amazing and so quick to come out. No joke like 20 minutes and all the food came out at once. They make their own chicken Snitchels and my steak sandwich was perfect. The place was packed and to be able to keep up was wonderful. Toilets clean and upon paying for the meal the owner asked how everything was. The best country pub I've ever been too. My Wife bought a T-shirt, and we are now considering buying a house in the town. The pub a genuine. No pokies, No TAB. There are guitars hanging on the wall for local to have a jam. The Live music they had the nights we were there was spot on. The food was better than most Melbourne pubs, and 25% cheaper. The service was great very friendly, even the French (?) Girl that served us on her first day. The Publican Adam was delightful and made us feel welcome. The locals at the Roo were all lovely, being a small town we stood out as foreigners, and it was one great conversation after another.
