Whitegrain Warragul — Restaurant in Victoria

My wife has wanted to have dinner here for a while now and based on tonight’s dining experience, I can see why! Initially when I called earlier, they were booked out, however I received a call back about 30 minutes later advising a table had become available. We had 2 entrees, the spring rolls and the bao with crackling pork, both delicious. Mains we had stir fried vegetables with chicken (a little disappointing to find bean shoots in this meal, wasn’t stated on the menu) and pork with rice and carrots and cucumber, very nice! Dessert we had banana fritter and fried bao with ice cream, both delicious and Vietnamese coffee, wow what an interesting and very tasty way to have a coffee, a must try for anyone that enjoys a good coffee! Overall besides the bean shoots, the rather long wait between entree and mains and somewhat inattentive staff at times, we had a very enjoyable dining experience and will be coming back at some point I’m sure. If not for the minor inconveniences mentioned, we would have rated 5 stars! Special mention as well to the manager for helping me with working out the Vietnamese coffee setup, very friendly...

The BEST cuisine in Warragul, and an amazing atmosphere.. The staff at Whitegrain were extremely accommodating & polite from the moment we walked through the door. Despite the crowd, our meals came within 15 minutes of ordering and we could not fault anything that was on our plates. Having a vegetarian friend, there was more than enough for her to choose from; whereas I ordered the Chicken Bao buns alongside the Chim Cút Chiên; marinated deep fried quail with a dipping sauce of salt, pepper, lemon and chilli; which I highly recommend; a perfect & unique combination. Whitegrain is a one of its kind, authentic Vietnamese flavours & the relaxing atmosphere; it is like no other restaurant within the area. Very accommodating and easy to book. Whitegrain came recommended by family and it did not disappoint. Nice clean restaurant with a good layout. Service was fantastic right from when we walked in and my wife and I were always looked after through the night. Now onto the food which was amazing. The spring rolls were well balanced and came with one of the best dipping sauces I have had, the bao buns were so fresh tasting and well put together. Our mains continued to impress, particularly the lemongrass chicken sizzling plate which came recommended by the owner. Maybe a new favorite dish for me. All in all this place has a great feel, beautiful food and some very genuine people working there. Very impressed and will be back soon....
