Lady Vandeburg — Restaurant in Warrnambool

My sister and I came in tonight for takeaway, the girl who took our order was apparently new but was nice, social and patient. My sister was eating her chips from her bag in the car on the way back to her place only to realise when she went to have her burger that it wasn't what she ordered. We then checked my order and found it ok but were honestly worried she may have just unknowingly been gluten poisoned as she is Celiac. I took her back to figure out what happened exactly. We honestly hoped that it was just an honest mistake and that the girl taking our order hadn't heard her exactly right as the burger looked to be the Vandeburger and not the Chicken Vaneburger. She had also asked for no sauce (lots of sauces contain gluten) and this burger had sauce.

When my sister explained this the girl even said that she must have heard her wrong. But when another girl came over all of a sudden it was a "Tricky situation" and a "you said, she said" and basically insinuated my sister was trying to get a free burger. My sister went in with the original burger to hand it back as it's NOT what she ordered and she wasn't going to eat it. This new girl (not the original one who took the order) has then said that she may as well keep it because they would just throw it out. Nothing was solved and they just left my sister (literally walked off) with no resolution.

She was so happy to find somewhere else that did GF in Warrnambool but if this is how you treat your customers I'm surprised you have any. They didn't even confirm with her that this mistaken order was indeed gluten free so I hope you haven't...

Unfortunately although the food did taste good, the expectations I had from the menu and previous times dining here did not stand up.

I ordered the Philly cheese steak, which looked good and a decent size portion per the menu picture. However when it came out it was a tiny hotdog bun with a couple bits of steak and a bit of sauce. Certainly not what the menu pictured.

Additionally our sauces for our fries were forgotten, this was rectified by some desert sauces to go with our donut fries, but when our dessert came out, it was soggy, drowned in sauce, tasted like the donuts were microwaved with strawberries that had seen better days, and my Oreo donut fries just had choc sauce and stale mini Oreos on top. It was not overly appetising, however we finished it because our main meal portion were so small.

At the end of the night we were not pleased, at all with our meal, but due to social anxiety and hate of confrontation, we did not feel very comfortable speaking up about this at the restaurant. Additionally, the wait staff, were not to blame for this, this is specifically an issue with the food being prepared and falsely advertised.

Additionally my partner ordered a "milkshake" and was asked if she wanted to upgrade to a "thick" shake. She agreed and what was brought out to the table was just a glass of caramel milk. Whilst there may have been icecream added, calling it a "thick" shake and charging extra for it is an insult to the name "thick shake"

I spent $139 on our dinner, and would have gotten better tasting, larger servings from...

Down here for holidays and wanted to help support businesses as much as we can, came here Thursday night with a group of 10, do not like the online ordering over the phone because a lot of the descriptions of the cocktails don’t have what is actually in the drinks and staff could not tell us exactly what was in them, 4 members of the group waited almost 2 hours for there drinks while others drinks were brought out, was told they ran out of docket paper did not get an apology for the extremely long wait! Then had to ask staff 3 more times when the drinks would be coming out, totally understand with short staff and what not we were originally told they were booked so we’re expecting to wait but when arrived there were still empty tables that no one sat on and only had 1 staff member behind the bar making the drinks while another one was just walking around and talking to her mates and wasn’t interested in serving us, we all got sick of waiting so asked for a refund which took a long time because the manager then had to ring the owner to get it approved, we were not expecting to get offered complimentary drinks all we wanted was a apology for taking almost 2 hours for a drink, yet the manager could not even do that after we spent a considerable amount of money, very disappointing will not be returning and will go support somewhere that wants...
