We (12 people) went to Azzaca to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. My parents went to the venue 6 weeks ago to make the booking and were told by the owner that they would be seated outside, she even showed them how the blinds could be put down if it was windy and also said if it was rainy they'd be moved inside to the corner away from everyone. When we arrived they seated us at a long table just near the doorway. Upon querying why we weren't outside as requested they staff said that a booking of 30 people had been made outside and therefore we could no longer be accommodated. We had obviously been bumped for this larger booking. We asked why we had at not least been contacted to say an outside table could no longer be accommodated - all they said was an email booking confirmation was sent, which we checked, and again no mention of not being outside. If we had known we would have had a chance to seek another restaurant with an outdoor space. We asked if we could at least be moved to the back corner so we'd have a little area to ourselves (having kids also we didn't want to be disturbing other diners) but were told sorry it's already booked. There was still half an outdoor space when the party of 30 arrived, which had been put aside for overbookings. We were still overlooked even on this side.
The food is good, albeit share plates are on the small side, and can't fault the service to get drinks and food, however we found the treatment of our booking to be unsatisfactory and staff did not seem to care that this had not been...

My partner and I were introduced to this family-run business over a year ago by a good friend, and it has now become a very frequent watering hole.
Lisa runs a tight ship in the kitchen and her crew are always striving for the tastiest dishes, presented to the highest standard in speedy time. They are always more than happy to alter dishes to suit true allergy requirements as needed. However, if you are looking for a "make your own meal" option this is not the restaurant for you. Lisa takes the highest pride in designing the menu to ensure that the meal is one of a kind that will awaken the taste buds and leave the diner pleasantly surprised with every bite.
Jerry is quick to recommend a tasty handmade cocktail from their frequently updated list, or one of the many wines and beers (including on tap and from the fridge) to suit even the pickiest of drinkers.
Chelsea and her waitstaff are quick to greet and make all feel welcome - service is always with a smile and done promptly.
I hope to be dining here for many years to come. Do yourself and your friends a favour and visit this...
Read moreFeel terrible to write a bad review but if you’re after a meal to fill you up then this isn’t the place. We ordered the tacos, ribs, pork belly bites and gnocchi. There was four of us so we were sharing the dishes. When they came out I had to question the size, especially the gnocchi, for $30 I would certainly expect more than 8 pieces of gnocchi on the plate. After questioning is this the correct size as I was told it was a main the response was yes we weigh our gnocchi!!! Never have I ever paid $30 for gnocchi and not been super full after it. I’m not saying the food wasn’t good tasting but dam for the price we paid tonight and all walked out not satisfied was very very disappointing. I have no problem paying high price for food but when you don’t get a meal out of it then yes I’m sorry I will say something. My review - not worth the money!!!
EDITED: as seen the owners response below! We were told we had ordered 2 mains and 2 entrees and would be perfect amount for the 4 of us. There is no way any of this dishes were a main size. The gnocchi definitely was not a main size for $30. I still have the receipt if you think we ordered 3 entrees. I understand you may make all good on-site but 8 pieces of gnocchi for $30 is...
