Coogee Beach Surf Life Saving Club — Restaurant in Western Australia

• This review is for Surfing Lizard Cafe which is on site with the Coogee Surf Life Saving Club *: Love the delicious food, reliable menu (I think Asian fusion is how to describe it?) the great coffee, the great outdoor and indoor seating of the venue, the dog friendliness, kids play area... These are what have brought me back for at least 3years... Only thing that REALLY BUGS me is the single use plastic cups and straws for the cold drinks. This seems that little bit more confronting when it is so close to the ocean, and the little piles of discarded straws regularly accumulate in the corners and under tables. Management says they trialled paper straws and there were too many complaints from customers that they went soggy too quickly, meaning they needed to take multiple straws for each drink, so they went back to the ecoplastic. It is this fact that has really decreased the frequency...

I went to my son's wedding reception last Saturday. It started promising: beautiful terrasse with a breathtaking ocean view and seemingly friendly stuff. Until my son and his gorgeous bride were to dance: no music sound, nothing. Big zero! My heart broke - It was supposed to be the day for the young couple to remember! Instead, some excuses and trying to fix the sound system with a microphone. Pathetic, indeed! I won't mention food. Everyone around me was hungry.

I hope the next young couple and their parents will have a much better experience. But from me, one star. I would give zero, but unfortunately, this is not how Google...

I got to DJ an event there last night and let me tell you, this venue completely wowed me. The absolute best hospitality staff I've seen. Their friendly professional service was just outstanding. I had several attendees mention this also. The venue itself is gorgeous but the service just nailed it for me. Highly recommend this venue for any event or function, if I lived in WA, I'd be having my wedding reception here. Shout out to Isla, Vanessa & Owen.
