Our family dined alfresco for a bruch get together yesterday. We chose here as I was told by family members how impressive their own experience was here recently. Our table reservation had no table number assigned, and there seemed to be confusion over the tables order as we paid separately despite the table name being reserved. None of our party of 6 was asked the table number or reservation name when ordering at the counter... The range of patisserie items were lacking and quite small by a 10am brunch appt on a Sun. As this is more than one outlet for this 'chain' & the patisserie items are cooked & sourced in the Swan Valley- I was surprised by this. There wouldn't have been a great range of patisserie items available for the rest of the days coffee & cake or even lunch customers. I'm assuming this was due to the popularity of breakfast for customers before 10am?? The breakfast platters were certainly awesome with a wide array of breakfast foods and products- although filled with what was left from the counters patisserie & I would have expected both platters to have been the same... The pot of tea for two was quite strong. No extra pot of hot water was given & the pot didn't feel pre warmed. A bit disappointing as we dined outside, and with the cold & damp weather the tea/coffee went cold very very fast. We also had to ask for fresh glasses for the water as they weren't too clean. The latte was too strong to drink.. Despite extra milk hot water & sugar it was still way too strong for a latte & was unable to be drunk altogether. My Mum ordered eggs ON toast with no spinach & it was supposed to come with butter as it was listed on the menu. There was no butter- we had to ask for some. The eggs on toast was served as 3 pieces of cold toasted baguette with eggs to the side.. The scrambled eggs were cooked as ordered, however also almost cold when served- in fact barely warm & with the weather were cold in less than a few minutes outside. Due to food allergies, I ordered a bacon & egg baguette- untoasted- with the eggs just cooked. This was totally unimpressive & unappetizing as well. I don't know how a bacon & egg roll for breakfast COULD be mucked up! I understand I wasn't worried about a toasted roll- however the baguette was cold, both looked and tasted uncooked (pretty much like the partially cooked bread rolls you place in the oven before dinner- it looked and tasted "doughey" not like the crusty baguette I expected at all- even untoasted- as let'sface it, this IS a French restaurant right? & especially after looking at other food photos already posted on the web!) The roll was also unbuttered & the 2 poached eggs & slice & half of bacon were almost totally cold to the side of the roll when served. The eggs were barely finger warm when broken for filling the roll. After making up my almost totally cold roll, I managed to eat half & took the rest home- for my dog... Our table was not cleared of any plates when the meals were finished, (despite me stacking them ready to be removed as well) until we actually left the table. We understand it was a bleak day (luckily no rain) & were still happy to sit on damp benches for breakfast- but we also weren't asked if everything was OK or if we would like to continue with any more coffee etc after breakfast. I'm aware it's not table service for ordering, however a little service & cheer goes a long way! Taking in to account the reasonably small restaurant, with one main cook, the experience here was very disappointing & overall could have been much better.

EDIT (28th Jan): I came back in this last Friday to give this place another go. This time I ordered their lunch takeaway special - we got a couple of toasted baguettes (absolutely delicious - they were scoffed so fast I couldn't get a photo), the coffees were fantastic and the service was so quick and lovely. I waited no more than 10 minutes for everything. Here's hoping this standard is consistent - I'd love to make this place my weekend regular. I dropped in here to get a quick takeaway breakfast for my partner and I. The coffees were great and the service was friendly but I waited half an hour and paid a premium for a croissant with one sad slice of ham and a wafting of unmelted, pre-shredded cheese. Half the croissant was soggy from the dressing on the greens. I don't mind a wait if the food is good, but this is embarrassing.

A fantastic little gem and really good food. It's a quaint spot with limited seating right near a large pond. Seating is comfortable with seats inside and out under the verandah, with benches under grape vines. The establishment is new and as such it currently lacks the ambiance of much French that I noticed. The tables are a bit on the petite side. The food was fantastic, pictured, is the breakfast for 2 which was too much for us. Everything on the platter was cooked to perfection and the Chef Louis choose the perfect mango macarons for us. The almond croissant is amazing and the breads we bought for takeaway are also very good. Service was quick and efficient with friendly banter, plates and cups were also cleared quickly once finished. I'll definately be returning and would recommend a visit.

I've been keen to try this place for some time now. I don't Iive in Ellenbrook. Finally got there & I was so disappointed. Entered through the door facing the till. The glass doors were smeary. Looked to the left & a pile of cartons in the corner. There was no ambience inside. The place felt unclean. The cabinets looked sad & there was nothing grabbing my taste buds. I enjoy a croissant but wasn't hungry enough to tackle the huge ones in the cabinet. The girl serving me was lovely though. I bought macaroons & a drink. Found a table outside and took in the surroundings. The outside was unkempt - weeds growing everywhere. Some of the decking is rotten & planks missing (could be an accident waiting to happen) Looking from outside to inside I noticed more windows that needed cleaning. Nibbled at the macaroons.....but honestly I've had better from Churros. What was pleasant was the sound of the waterfall & birds. Before leaving I went to use the toilet but one look in both the ladies & wheelchair toilets I walked away well and truly disgusted. You need to check the restrooms regularly French Riviera!!! I've ticked your establishment off my to visit list and will never return or...

Hi Just wanted to share the terrible experience we had at this cafe. I and my son’s therapist along with my son who is on spectrum came for morning coffee and some snacks. I was having migraine and thought of coming out for some fresh air but little did I know that my whole experience of coming out can be so stressful. We ordered coffee and some cake and pastry. We received coffee in next 10 min’s but if I have to say when we received the food I would say the girls took ages to deliver the food. We got our food after almost 35-40 min’s that to after my son’s therapist went inside and requested them that girls we still have not got the food and we cannot wait long as we have child on special needs and he cannot wait that long and then lady over the counter said it is coming again after waiting for 15 min’s I called another lady she said I will check and send the food , we finally got the food without even any care to apologize and then meanwhile our coffees went cold as we were just waiting for the food. We came here to get some relaxation and not to get upset by poor customer service. I wish if owners of the caffe reads this and also no one else had to go through such...
