Lovely to see this popular cafe continue under new ownership. We dined in just for coffee and dessert, but what we saw of the meals being served, we will definitely be back for brunch or lunch in the future. The new owners and staff are friendly and efficient, obviously wanting to get off to a good start. Coffee was a good flavour, perhaps could have been a little hotter this time - I'm sure it takes time to get to know a new machine. The tarts we chose were tasty and nicely presented, there's a nice selection of different fruit tarts on custard available. The Portuguese tart unexpectedly contained a centre of jam, and while I know this is an option, it would be good to also provide the option of traditional Portuguese tarts with custard filling only. Read moreWe did a takeaway Disappoint no 1 We had phoned earlier at 8am as was our custom but when we got there there was no record of them receiving the msg Disappointment no 2 The takeaway cappuccino was flat and tasted bitter Disappointment no 3 The almond croissant lacked something …. It was so different Not just in looks to the usual but also in taste and shape to the ones by the previous Korean owners Concession given to the staff rushing about in stiff attention because this was the fifth day since they took over However the coffee and almond croissant tasted different and not answering the phone or checking for message left on voice mail ? So sorry we have to go somewhere else local as George St cafe had been our favourite breakfast morning tea brunch place for...
Read moreMy regular coffee spot as of late, used to go down to Hoopla but much prefer the coffee here. Good size serving for the price as well.
I would of given 5 stars but the Cinnamon scrolls don't have the traditional cream cheese frosting so I had to deduct a single star. If this cafe decide to add the frosting I will amend my review.
Keep it up guys
