Very disappointed with everything and very angry with the way the situation turned out. Please read until the end as it keeps getting worse.
My friend and I had a look on Eat Club and we saw a 30% off discount on this place, so we decided to give it a try as we were both craving a steak for lunch this past Saturday 27/05/2023. I called ahead of time to inquire if drinks were also included in the 30% discount. The person who picked up the phone disregarded my question and asked for when I wanted to book. I told her I would book on Eat Club for 2 people to get the discount, I then asked again about the discounted drinks at which point she told me the 30% discount also apply on drinks.
She called me right back and asked me when I wanted to book for my "Party of 10". I told her again I only called to inquire about drinks discount, and I would be booking on Eat Club myself for my party of 2. We did this and rocked up about half an hour later in time for our booking.
Unsure why there was so much emphasis on the booking from her as when we showed up the place was completely empty. I asked for a drink menu, but turns out they don't serve any alcohol? The discount on drinks refers to soft drinks? Didn't think I had to specify that what I was inquiring about was alcoholic drinks but anyway I didn't say anything.
We had a seat outside and ended up ordering Salt & Pepper Calamari $15, a long black $5 and each a Scotch fillet which was retailed at $35 full price on the menu.
The long black arrived in a small glass cup, the size of an espresso shot. I thought this was a bit strange but the coffee wasn't bad so I didn't say anything. The Calamari arrived and it was only 3 medium sized fried pieces for $15 and it was not Salt & Pepper. We didn't say anything despite the quantity of Calamari being served and the misleading flavour on the menu as it also wasn't bad.
The steak arrived and I was served the most disgusting piece of Scotch I have ever seen. The steak was basically 3 pieces of fatty meat, being held by more fat, covered in fat on the outside. I tried to cut through the fat to get to the meat but it was so bad I couldn't even cut through it. I managed to eat about 2 bites and destroy the steak trying to find edible meat in there. My friend ordered the same thing and we ordered medium rare, hers was nearly blue to rare. Extremely bloody. She cut through it but didn't even eat a piece.
We called the waitress over and said we couldn't eat this, at this point pretty turned off with the whole experience and the food being served. She kept insisting that we wait and she would bring us another plate, but we didn't want more. We had to insist we didn't want another plate multiple times.
At this point we were pretty starving, 2:30pm in the afternoon and we just wanted to go elsewhere to eat. We went inside and once again had to tell her we did not want another plate of Scotch fillet. We asked her if we could just pay for the Calamari and the coffee and call it a day. Had to argue a little bit as she kept insisting that we stay and wait for another plate. After insisting we did not want to eat there anymore, she called her manager to see if we could just pay for the calamari and the coffee. After a 5-minute conversation with her manager on the phone, she hung up and agreed to have us pay for the two items we had eaten and disregard the Scotch fillet.
She charged us full price for the calamari $15 and the coffee $5 and didn't add the "Eat Club 30% off". We didn't say anything and paid the $20 as we just wanted to get out of there and go eat elsewhere.
20 minutes later, we're sitting at Nando's and a representative from Eat Club calls us!!!!!!!! She said the restaurant called and told Eat Club that we left without paying!!! Honestly, we were absolutely fuming at this stage, hence my lengthy review. I cannot believe that they would call Eat Club to tell them we left without paying, when Eat Club isn't even involved at this stage considering we didn't even get a discount!!!!!!
Absolutely disgusted with...
Read moreHonest review: my family & I came to this restaurant yesterday 8/12/2023.
4 people ordered various mains & entrees. Food is average but not what you expect for the money you pay. Food came to the table semi cold & needed more seasoning.. thankfully salt and pepper were on the table. One younger female waitstaff was not very friendly and didn’t know how to answer our questions. We questioned why the jalapeño poppers were not whole jalapeños stuffed with cheese as stated on the menu. She simply said this is the stuffed jalapeño. When clearly not
$5 for a can of coke in a glass, when asking for a can instead of glass they say they don’t offer that. But have a whole fridge full of them.
I told my friend and she recommended trying the buffet, as she says the entrees are better than the mains.
I went back with my friend the next day 9/12/2023 to try the buffet/ give it another chance & again was underwhelmed by both the service of the female waitstaff & the food.
The bread was dry & not a lot of sauce (red and orange sauce was also very bland)
The only positives were the chicken parmigiana main and the pizza.
I cut my barramundi in half and realised the middle was not cooked properly. I didn’t ask for my money back which was a mistake. I just wanted to leave. Paying $90 for two people you would expect a higher level of food service. Manager seemed nice and wanted to make sure we were happy but I could tell he was stressed & trying to keep the service under control.
Upon reading other reviews I feel disgusted in recommending my family this restaurant based on reviews I had previously read. The kitchen and bathroom are not clean. And I WILL NOT eat here or recommend this place to...
Read moreWent there for dinner recently, all in all the food was okay but the quality and portions aren't worth the price. When my main dish came out it was covered in sauce, i couldn't see my chicken breast, mashed potatoes or broccoli. I then realised my chicken breast was completely flattened or halved. Not to mention that theres balsamic vinegar dressing on every plate of food that came out. I ordered the chocolate moose and the texture was “ old “ it was not fluffy and or airy. It was stuck together and mushy ( photo for reference). Apart from the food the service was interesting, it was the first time i have ever had the table cleared of dishes and being told to keep the dirty cutlery. Normally a place would clean the entire table and provide fresh new cutlery, cups and plates. It was not a busy night also and multiple tables that had left were yet to be cleared, leaving dirty dishes out on display for a few hours on a few tables. They accept cash but do not provide change. Furthermore the cash gets handed to who i assume is the owner, that is in the kitchen. Unsure about their hand washing practices but i hope that when they receive the cash in the kitchen they wash their hands after. I did notice that there were no hair nets in the kitchen as well as they were wearing watches, which is a health food and...
