The Bushland Reserve is right next to Harold Rossiter Park which is a large off-leash dog exercise area when it isn't being used by local sports teams or other groups (I've seen LARPers having great fun a couple evenings a week as well as a dog agility group). The Reserve is a beautiful mainly fenced (I assume so people & dogs don't disturb wildlife or trek in/out dieback) reserve for people to enjoy a short bush experience in the midst of suburbia! It has recovered well from a fire in 2016 and is a testament to the ability of native vegetation to bounce back as well as the efforts of the volunteer(?) community group Friends of Jirdarup Bushland. There is a public toilet & BBQ facility at the clubhouse at Harold Rossiter Park, but please be aware that the Park is an off-leash area and the Reserve is on leash. The red tail cockatoo's love to take them over mostly..Theres a cute family of tawny frog mouth birds there and a cple of brown goshawks. Also the rainbow bee eaters nest there and are so colourful.
