It was my first time visiting Gustoso. The restaurant wasn’t busy — just a couple of families sitting outside. The staff were friendly and directed me to the takeaway menu, which was a good start. I ordered the Calabrese pizza and was told it would take about 10 minutes, but I ended up waiting closer to 20. Unfortunately, I didn’t check the food before leaving, and when I got home, I was really disappointed to find the pizza burnt. To make matters worse, I’d been charged $29 for it. Overall, a very underwhelming experience. Friendly staff, but poor attention to food quality. Sadly, I won’t be returning.

Found this place by accident just passing through. My daughter is coeliac. A lot of GF choices and they went to a lot of effort to ensure no cross contamination. She had GF battered calamari. I had GF small seafood platter. Separate fryer for chips! Food was a generous portion, cooked to perfection and delicious. 10/10 for the chilli mussel sauce. Highly recommended.

Food here was really nice, especially the pasta and rice dishes such as the carbonara and mushroom risotto. The strength of the blue cheese in the carbonara really caught us off guard in a good way as it’s something I haven’t really tried before in a carbonara. I personally found though that for the tiramisu, it is a little too sweet, nullifying the coffee flavour.

I visited Gustoso yesterday with some friends, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. One of my friends ordered the chicken with spaghetti Bolognese, but as soon as she tasted the Bolognese sauce, she noticed a strong lamb flavor. Since she does not eat lamb, she asked another friend to try it and confirm if she was right. Our friend, who is a chef, noticed the same lamb flavor and mentioned that sometimes restaurants use a mix of beef and lamb. However, if that was the case, it should have been clearly stated on the menu.

As soon as we realized that the dish contained lamb, we immediately asked the manager (or what we assumed to be the manager) for clarification. However, she did not seem very welcoming from the start. Instead of double-checking with the chef, she simply stated that it was beef. My friend then asked, “Are you sure? Because we can taste lamb.” The manager firmly responded, “Yes, I’m sure.” She briefly asked if my friend wanted a new dish, but there was no insistence on resolving the issue. Feeling uncomfortable with the interaction, my friend hesitated and decided to continue with the meal.

As my friend ate more, she became even more certain that the meat was not what was stated on the menu. To make matters worse, we noticed the manager whispering to other staff members while looking in our direction, which felt quite disrespectful.

A more professional approach from the manager—such as properly verifying the ingredients and addressing customer concerns with care—would have made a big difference. We didn’t feel comfortable asking for another meal, which is not how any customer should feel when dining out. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback into consideration, as good customer service is just as important as the quality...

Top 10 Reasons Why Gustoso Isn’t Just a Restaurant, It’s an Experience i absolutely love this amazing place.

1 The service is incredible. The staff make you feel genuinely welcomed, like you're part of the family.

2 The atmosphere has so much heart. It’s warm, cozy, and full of little details that make the experience feel personal.

3 The food is unreal. I’ve honestly never had so many good dishes in one place.

4 The prosciutto pizza deserves its own spotlight. It was pure perfection, light, crispy, full of flavour.

5 You can taste the love in everything. There’s real passion in the kitchen, and it shows.

6 It suits every occasion. Whether you’re out with friends or on a date, it feels special without being pretentious.

7 The portions are generous and satisfying. You leave full and happy.

8 They’re consistently amazing. Every time I go back, it’s just as good as the last time.

9 It’s a true Perth gem. This place stands out in the best way.

10 I’ll always return, and I’ll keep recommending it. Gustoso is not just a place to eat, it’s a place to feel.

Keep it up guys and see you again soon...

Even though the waitresses were kind and polite to us, the Manager was extremely rude every time she came to talk to us. She seemed impacient, and sarcastic all the time we needed her assistance. Probably cause we are not Australians, which is just sad, even more so because she is the Manager. I ordered a chicken with bolognese spaghetti. I don't eat lamb, and I'm 100% sure that the minced meat was not only beef, it was mixed with lamb. She came to our table and I asked her. Once again she was clearly impacient and rude and insisted that there was no lamb on there. My friend who's a chef tried it and she also tasted lamb in there. The Manager did offered to change my dish, but I felt bad of wasting the food and also because of the way she was treating me. Didn't make me feel comfortable at all to do so.

After she left our table, the three of us could see her making fun and telling literally all the staff about it.

Totally unprofessional and nothing justifies that.

Clients should feel welcomed and comfortable and be treated with respect, no matter their skin colour,...
