Oh how the once mighty Korkmaz has fallen.
I’ve been going to the place for years but had a long absence due to moving out of the area.
However, I found myself in Attadale tonight and thought I’d make a visit. How I wish I’d just left the memories be.
Why? Seeing some beautiful crispy brown chicken on the vertical spit, I went with a chicken kebab with the lot/ garlic sauce, ($16) and that was my second mistake.
Carefully watching the young girl making it, I noticed she didn’t once go and shave me fresh chicken off the vertical spit.
Nope. Instead she pulls out a bucket and chucks pre cooked/ cut cold chicken on the grill and heats it up.
Yep a bucket. Disgusting. My fear of salmonella rose.
Anyway, I knew immediately this kebab would be shoddy and one bite proved it. While the salad and bread seemed fresh, the chicken within was sloppy and flavourless. The garlic sauce had zero kick and for the first time in a long time, I threw over half a kebab in the bin.
Such a disappointing effort from a shop that I used to highly rate and was an absolute favourite.
Keep your bucket chicken Korkmaz because I won’t be back for it, and I encourage everyone else to go elsewhere if this is the standard they’re now serving up.

I got the felafel kebab and my partner got the chicken and we shared a box of chips. I’ve never finished a kebab before in my life because it’s just a lot of food, but I honestly couldn’t stop! I ate every bite!! The bread was the best part! Exactly like you want your kebabs to be! Crispy and warm on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. And the chips!! Don’t skip the chips! Cooked to perfection! The man behind the counter smiled with his eyes and was genuinely a beautiful person. I wish we lived closer, this would be my new go-to! Read moreWhat a fantastic guy the owner, Amin, is & the Kebabs, With The Lot, including a fried egg, are TREMENDOUS!!! The "SECRET" homemade chilli seasoning, is AMAZING & gives the food just an extra little kick. My work colleague, Aliki & myself, came for lunch 3 days in a row!!! We also tried the Burek & Pidé - DELICIOUS & Amin even cooked a "SPECIAL" Burger for my colleague. Highly Recommend for a clean, tasty, healthy-alternative lunch.
