Insult to people, tastebuds & pockets. Meal was at night with a largish group. At the beginning we had to fetch our own glasses & bottles of water. After we were served & eating, one person was left sitting with nothing. Oops. No recompense offered to this elderly lady for waiting to eat for so long on a cold dark night. And speaking of which: there were no Senior Meals. I was lucky enough to be served & had the Lemon Pepper Squid with black garlic aoili with spring onion & fresh chilli for $16. Never before had I received part, instead of complete, squid rings for this dish. It also was a small serving made to look larger by the plate design & arrangement of the said segments. However, I did enjoy what there was of the squid dipped in the black garlic aoili. One friend not so lucky chose to have dessert only; she wanted something small. The Lakers had one dessert: "Honey Castle - warm french[sic] buttered bread, mixed berry coulis, strawberry icecreream, fresh strawberries, cinnamon sugar dust, mixed candy." It cost $14. Now, a mixed berry coulis usually consists of raspberries, blackberries, blueberries & strawberries. The chef at Lakers must have distilled essences into the glimpse of red sauce - for there were no berries except for one lonely, sad & small strawberry. Continuing the masquerade, this supposed "french[sic] bread" was a big lump of square bread (I'm sure the "F"rench would object to this misattribution on a number of levels) hollowed out & filled with the missing-in-reality "coulis", and "mixed candy" (translation into Australian English = lollies). This dessert was elevated to farcical by the lollies/candy: they were the cheapest children's lollies you can find - there was even a set of lolly teeth! -This whole shamozzle really isn't something that anyone would want to get their own teeth into. No surprise that my friend did her best to eat it but couldn't finish it. The whole night was dissatisfying on multiple levels. However, one positive: the room was warm. A pity it couldn't dissipate the residual horrible feelings & wish, no, a promise, to never go through that again. Edit: manager Storme's reply wants me to contact him/her/they for more details on what went wrong on the night. -How about take notice of what I've written & use that to improve service & food!?! - I want nothing, as I'm not going back. I sincerely hope future customers won't have to endure what we went through that night.

Came here with my partner and was not impressed. Since it was good Friday we had to purchase a meal each to be able to buy beers (all good) which we did. The blonde girl with tattoos made us feel like we were bothering her when we had questions about the menu options. When I wanted to buy my second drink (which apparently was the limit of drinks) I was told that they haved stopped serving because they needed everyone to be out at 5 pm. This could perhaps be fair, but I would have appreciated a heads up since it was over 30 minutes before closing time, especially given the conditions of purchase. The food was also a huge disappointment. My chicken parmigana was incredibly soggy on the bottom and maybe not cooked? It could maybe be because of the sugo but the combination of the soggy crust and pink chicken was not great.. Normally i would have addressed this with staff but the overall disinterest and rudeness made it feel pointless. Positives was the venue and maybe beer selection but that will not bring me back!

Dinner for 4 on a Sunday night. Was fairly quiet, plenty of room. We just had steak sandwiches and buttermilk chicken burgers. Steak was tender, sandwich was not overdone with too many ingredients so was really nice. Chicken burgers were yummy, nice crispy buttermilk chicken was really tasty. Quick and friendly service in the night. Next visit: Also visited Tuesday 25/5/21 for lunch. Food was tasty and came out quickly. Cook on the steak was good - charred on the outside medium as requested on the inside and well rested. Standard pub style salad was fresh (served in separate bowl 👍🏻). Chips were hot. Nasi goreng was really tasty. All elements on the plate cooked well and food came out hot. Rice was delicious. The sticky, sweet sauce in the dish also went beautifully with the egg (sliced omelette, not a fried egg) and sliced crumbed chicken was nice to have on the plate as well. Service friendly and efficient. Cold day but was nice and warm inside.

Visited this Hotel for eons. Today, Wednesday 28th June 2023. Must be rated as one of mine and my two friends worst experience one could ever imagine. Apart from not having waiter service which we were prepared for. The Garlic bread was minus the Garlic which we returned, which incidentally was paid for prior to receiving it. No refund was offered. My Lakers Burger came on a plate so small, that the chips were falling of the plate, the Burger itself was cold, and tasteless, I didn't want to cause embarrassment for my friends. Consequently I said nothing. It was also a pleasure to get outside where the temperature was warmer. Never again. I have barred myself from your establishment Hi Claire. I feel I must respond to your reply, to the above comments that I wrote. I wasn't aware that you offered my friend a free drink to compensate for the Garlic bread. Please take into account that there were three of us. Secondly if you read my comments again, you will note, that I didn't want to cause embarrassment to my friends to my friends by complaining about my meal. Also I did not want to cause stress you out, because I took into consideration your present pregnancy. I hope everything turns out good for...

My family and I have lived around the local area for some years now. During that time we have tried plenty of restaurants. This is our 1st experience at the Lakers Tavern for a meal, around dinner time, and I have to say I/we were extremely happy we decided to. Everything was spot on. One of the better ways to celebrated WA day, or any other day you're wanting to celebrate. It was a comfortable, relaxing and homely atmosphere, especially with the fireplace blazing away on a winters day. Just how it should be to enjoy a good meal. The meals were delicious, money for value, exactly what we ordered, prepared exactly the way we wanted and plentiful. (Had to take doggy bags home) Very acceptable time between orders and having them placed in front of us. The waitress were great. Very pleasant, welcoming attitudes and very accommodating. One of the better places around our local area for a great meal. Wished we had decided to have a meal there well before now. We will differently be going back again. Great team, a job well done to all concerned. Management should be very please.

P.S. Didn't mention the chief and the team incase there is one. ( The team that is ) Obviously...
