What a disgraceful price gouging company during these difficult times.
On Friday 15 March @ 6.01am I went into the Lawley's Bakery Cafe in Shenton Park to buy my husband a Lawley's sliced Ciabatta Loaf. I normally buy this bread from Farmer Jacks or the Good Grocer.
When I went to pay, the young girl asked for $8.10. I explained that that couldn't be possible and that I had never bought the bread at such an exorbitant price...and that I had been buying this bread for a number of years.
Once again, I questioned the price of the loaf and explained that $8.10 just couldn't be correct. The girl once again insisted that it was.
I asked her to explain how the company that 'makes' the bread could possibly be so much more expensive than Farmer Jacks or The Good Grocer. She gave the most bizarre answer. "Probably because they buy the bread wholesale and that's why they are so much cheaper". Seriously, you can't make this up.
On Friday afternoon I rang one of the Lawley Bakery Cafes around 14:20 on 9444 8886 and asked if they had a Branch Manager. I was advised that they had a Regional Manager and I'm pretty sure they said her name was Lesley. I explained that I had a complaint and would like to speak with her. Apparently she was on the road and the lady who took the call said that she would text her and have her call me.
Needless to say, I haven't heard from anyone.
On Friday Farmer Jacks in Subiaco were selling the bread for $3.99 as it was on sale by $1.20. (see attached photo).
On Saturday Farmer Jacks in Gwelup had the bread available for $5.19.
Make no mistake, Coles and Woolworths are not the only establishments ripping off people during these...
Read moreWow. I can't remember the last time I received such poor service. Was at Lawley's in Shenton Park with my family this morning. Firstly I asked what vegetarian options there were, and I wanted to know what else was in the 'roasted vege' bagel. Very inconvenient, I know. Noone seemed to know, then I was told cream cheese was in it. Fine, I'll have that, thanks. Food arrived and the veges in my bagel were not roasted, more like steamed. Ugh. Decided to take it back and ask for something else as, for $11.50, I figured I should have what I wanted. Right? By this stage the staff were yet to crack a smile, and while I stood plate in hand at the counter I was greeted with 'yes?' I explained my predicament and was asked 'so what do you want'. I said 'well, something which is palatable would be great, can I get something else?' Still no smile, no helpful suggestions, no customer service skills WHATSOEVER. they looked at each other like I was the problem. I ended up giving them a piece of my mind as by this stage I was fuming. They brought out the replacement meal and I could not get out of there fast enough. I hope that the owners use this review as an opportunity to address the importance of friendly customer service with their staff. We are in business ourselves and would be appalled if our employees interacted with customers...
Read moreAbsolutely awful customer service. If I was the owner I’d be looking at your staff just by reading the rest of the reviews. Came in with my Children ordered our food and paid for sauce. No sauce so my son went to ask politely the rude girl said ‘are you sure you paid for it’ I had to go in to prove it after spending 50 Dollars. Who does that. Secondly asked once for water to the table, was asked how many glasses nothing. Asked a second young blonde waitress and was looked at like stuff on her shoe. No water sent again. As I’m in customer service myself...
