Updating this review as i have recently eaten here a few mlre.times and can say it is one of my favorite places now. One visit that was not so good shouldn't dominate when usually it is a great place to go and get some amazing vegan food.
Having previously visited Loving Hut for the buffet today we went again. Last time the atmosphere was great, the food fantastic and service quick and friendly. . Today 3 fails on these essentials. First the young lady taking orders was terse, she appeared rushed and to answer our questions appeared to be a problem for her. She did ask if we wanted the buffet as all you can eat or one plate. As we were not over hungry the decision taken was for a single plate. A saving of $11 each. WARNING. What was not explained to us was this meant something a lot less than a buffet. Having taken our order we were then abandoned and did not have any explanation as to what was included so we wandered to find a table then collected plates to get our one plate each. The food was in short supply, some empty, so we asked if more was going to be brought out, and being assured it would started to look at the options before serving what we wanted. As we were looking another member of staff pounced on us, and rudely asked if we were having a single plate, receiving our confirmation we were rudely told they would serve our plates, what did we want. As we had not yet had a proper look and as some of the options were empty we did not know and this was received with a short answer that we need to tell her, she will write it down, and left us. After waiting for some time I decided to find her. Once located I was made to feel I was a nuisance so took the other option then offered of " some of everything". we were again abandoned. Turned her back and headed behind the counter. So we went to find a seat. Many tables were apparently reserved, despite some obviously having already been used but not cleared, so we ended up at a table outside with dirty dishes on it from the previous patrons. And so we waited. Feeling that we were being treated like naughty children that could not be trusted to choose their own meal. And waited, feeling we had been forgotten. And waited. Until enough was enough and I was rising to go find out what was going on, just as a wait person came through the door. With one plate, which was dropped on the table and as she walked away mumbled something like, "the other one will be here soon". It did eventually also appear. The disappointment continues. As we were not able to choose our own it was not a plate of food that was worth the price. Tiny serves of most but not all of the options available, uneven in size to each other and with differing offerings. As for the size of the serving it was very small. The only positive was that the food does still taste good, and if you had more than a single mouthful of anything I'm sure it would be enjoyable. Overall this was not the enjoyable lunch we expected and will think long and hard before returning. There are now some excellent vegan options at a range of venues and they will need to lift their game to be a place worth...
Read moreMy family and I visited Loving Hut for their Sunday vegan buffet last week. With around 15 dishes to choose from, we were spoiled for options. Happily, almost every single item was absolutely delicious.
The lasagne was incredible - so savory and packed with flavor. I went back for seconds of the smoky barbecue pizza with pineapple - the sweet and tangy pineapple was the ideal complement to the charred pizza crust and barbecue sauce. The corn soup was also a favorite, with soft, pillowy corn kernels contrasting the crispy outside of the mini sausage rolls floating in the broth. The salad was packed with fresh vegetables including artichokes, olives, and whole sweet cherry tomatoes.
Really, every dish we tried from the extensive vegan buffet was excellent. From fresh salads to hearty mains and savory appetizers, Loving Hut's talented chef clearly puts care into each recipe.
The true standouts were a) the stuffed mushrooms, with a savory filling of aubergine, cheese, olives, mushrooms, tomatoes and spices stuffed into tender, meaty mushroom caps and b) the banana walnut cake - It was perfectly moist and sweet, with a crunchy toasted walnut topping that put it over the top. We had a delightful chat with the owner about how much we enjoyed the food and learning about how many of the dishes were made.
For the reasonable Sunday buffet price, my family got to sample all sorts of wonderful vegan fare. We left satisfied and impressed by the quality and choices. I highly recommend visiting Loving Hut to experience their first-rate vegan...
Read moreThere are so many things to love about Loving Hut Perth. Not only are the sweet and savoury Vegan food choices absolutely DELICIOUS, their oat milk chai latte is authentic and my go-to as an alternative to coffee. Lee, Elena and all of the staff from Loving Hut are so friendly and helpful. They also support many animal sanctuaries, charities, and organisations, for which I'm extremely grateful and thankful for.
