Disappointed Disappointed to say the least. Second time a group of us from work have popped into the West Leederville location. We all ordered coffee and cake. Second time a few of us received our hot drinks that were not hot. I would say they were lukewarm at best. I drank my hot chocolate in one gulp. My colleague sent his back. The cakes/doughnuts we all agreed were delicious and tasty so something is going right here maybe they should just stick to being known as a bakery and forget the drinks and service (or drop the price). Service up to now is ok. We go to pay and we all realise its card only. I know legally they can do this but I am really not a fan. What if someone is using the envelope system of budgeting? Or someone has just been given $50 by their grandma to spend. You are going to turn them away? Comes across on the one hand as arrogance but the other laziness and perhaps because staff are inept to count/handle cash. There was an article in the news recently about poor results in world maths tests. Anyhow it seems that staff are also inept at handling the computerised machine. I told the girl what I had, hot chocolate and passionfruit doughnut. I hand her my card she swipes it then says “$20.50”. “$20.50 for that I exclaim!” She looks alarmed and says “Oh um I’m confused but I think I have added one of the other desserts on”. I repeat my order then she says “Ok you are owed $6 but we have no cash so I will charge your colleague less for his then he can refund you?” She turns to colleague and says “you can give her the money yes?” It was as much of a statement as it was a question. Now I must admit we could have protested but our colleagues were outside waiting and I think we were just a bit taken aback. So he says yes. We walk out and turn to each other incredulous. They basically asked my colleague to refund me for their mistake. My colleague is not confident that the amount I was finally charged $14.50 was even correct, we didn’t have menus to hand but that still seems a lot. I remember going when Mary Street first opened in Highgate and it was good, now I feel it has grown too big and arrogance perhaps has overtaken their desire/need to be good. We all agreed we will...
Read moreNot going to lie this was nasty! Fried “chicken” burger contained 2 piddly 50cent size pieces of over cooked and burnt bits of chicken. The piece looks bigger as there was a large burnt flat piece attached to the side (was NOT chicken/ possibly skin?) whatever it was- definitely not what was on the menu……………
There was 3 of us who ordered the chicken burger and all 3 came out exactly the same- crunchy burnt dry tiny bit of chicken. Except one plate had less than 10 chips, one plate had about 20 and the other plate had about 50 chips, oh and one burger bun was that wet it fell apart because it was that soggy. I sent my burger back- charging $26 for that is just taking the p!$$. However the other 2 people were starving and couldn’t wait. They offered to re cook mine but if all 3 burgers come out with 2 pieces of stringy burnt overcooked chicken (totalling maybe 50gms of chicken total) then what’s the point of getting the same thing sent out again- it was obviously the kitchen was happy sending that out otherwise they wouldn’t of done it x3………
Inconsistent not great and definitely not what it used to be. No wonder not many people were there. Even the person behind the counter was abrupt and rude. I went to buy a rosewater and pistachio doughnut and was told they’ve never made them ever and I clearly was mistaken and obviously bought them elsewhere and never from there…. Don’t gaslight me please. You might not sell them now, but you actually did sell them as I would drive an hour specifically to get them for years and years.
You can keep your piddly bit of whatever you scabbed up off the floor to deep fry to chuck in a burger and charge $26 for and you can keep your rude gaslighting attitude while...
Read moreI was at the private hospital yesterday and googled the nearest cafe. This bakery came up, the food looked lovely and the bakery looked very nice place. I am 7 months pregnant so I was very hungry and thirsty. I drive 5min down the road to the bakery. I walk in and there are 2 staff members just standing behind the counter looking at each other trying to avoid eye contact with me, no greeting me as I walk towards the counter so that was awkward and made me feel very uncomfortable. After I had a look through the glass at the food I was happy with what I saw so I approached the counter the lady asked me what would I like. She seemed shy and a bit nervous to serve me? While she still kept eye contact with the guy just standing at the coffee machine? So i asked what sandwiches they have and what was in them because I am pregnant I have to be aware of what I am eating some things I can't tolerate. As she's telling me she wasn't sure of the sauces or some ingredients in the sandwiches so I just agreed to the chicken sandwich toasted please. There wasn't much selection for cold drinks so I just ordered a cold water bottle and a slice of cake aswell. Then the guy whispers to the lady "are you ok" ??? Me being indigenous I was a bit shocked and embarrassed that this lady's nervous behaviour may have been because of my skin colour since I was being avoided when I walked...
